Brighton is 100% not a Ikea flat pack ground.

They have done an excellent job well done!!!

every time this comes up..i wonder
      1) surely a qpr fan is an architect and could draft an image of a 3 rd tier, or say 2nd on ellerslie rd
      2) light is an issue but surely you'd use perspex see thru stuff mainly so light would pass thru
      3) cantilever design??

the land near TA and football pitch on SAR to me, is dead land, there's the new ground and qpr install facilities such as gym/indoor 5 a side? for community to use, thereby appeasing locals and maybe council.
loftus rd would have to be sold and if flats are built , some would have to be for socail housing to appease council.

there'd be no car parking for sure....but where we are is served by 4 tubes, 1 overground and the westway...IDEAL.

I wouldnt mind keeping with 18,500 I just want more bloody space!! although I rarely sit anyway my knees cant handle it when i do, and would be nice if the pillars move.
QPR's philosophy; perfer et obdura, dolor hic tibi proderit olim.

(Be patient and tough, some day this pain will be useful to you)

i'm not sure what you mean by using perspex?the stands themselves have to be concrete..thats what will block out the light
asfcor a cantilever stand...what about access?say you put on another tier of say 3-5k,where do the extra people gain access?the current turnstiles are overcrowded as it is,as are the gangways
even if it could be done, and expanding LR can't..it would make for a poor compromise, considering the logistical challenge, not cost effective
you would still have the current problems of legroom(lack of)and restricted views

ok,in every modern staduim i have seen, the steppings are concrete, the perspsex roofs and sides are to allow light into stadium, with roofs used to allow light onto the pitch..this is possible coz there is nothing to stop the light going onto the pitch as the stand is angled away from the roof. The houses are behind the stand, where the angle of the stand and the roof meet...so,even with a perspex roof, the stand itself, made out of concrete, blocks out the sun.if that makes sense

I'm afraid I agree. In order for any renovation/increased capacity, we need brand new owners who can afford it. Our team can't even afford any players above 5 million. So it is unrealistic to expect major investment.

owners who can afford it?if we dont have them now,we never will
Brighton have just built a new ground,i wasnt under the impression they were owned by billionaires
there seems to be the idea that owners of clubs pay for a new stadium up front in full. This isnt always the case.

yeah supposing Bernie is waiting for a russian or an arab or asian investor to come in with an offer for the club, he's not going to bother with expanding the stadium now is he? There is a huge "For Sale" sign at LR. Can't you see it?
And what's the big deal with Brighton? They did it, so we must do it?

One of the brighton owners paid for the stadium out of his own pocket, think it was 93 million.

Now thats what you would call a dedicated owner of a football club, not like the idiots we have.
                      They seek him here.................

I have lived in Loftus Road since a nipper in the fifties and in them days all the homes were open doors so i have been in nearly all the houses in Loftus and Ellerslie and the gardens are quite long in them big homes. Being in the building the trade the way i see it, the only way for QPR to expand is to buy out them houses. That is prob the cheapest option they have.
But having said that, they will have to weight up the value of QPR's land against purchasing cheaper alternative land.

like i said,he doesnt have to spend any of his own money to get the stadium built,
the reason Brighton built a new stadium was they needed it,so they could move forward

Why would Bernie take a loan to upgrade/expand the stadium, when he is looking for a buyer? Like Tony Fernandez at West Ham?

I don't like Brighton. I only like Hove Albion.

i think us being in london is a problem , only one club aresnal have built a new stadium. there is lack of space in london and land is focking expensive. brighton had a lot more scope than any london club! if the likes of spurs and chelsea are finding it hard to buy land for a new stadium what chance have we got!
LONDON CALLING TO THE ZOMBIES OF DEATH.... ALSO KNOW AS BRENTFORD FANS
