Having checked and double-checked, here's the low-down.
Not out of contract, even though it has been reported by multiple sources that he was.
Has asked the chairman for a move. Chairman has agreed as long as club valuation was met. Nothing was demanded. Player and chairman have reached very amicable agreement.
Bid was made by QPR two weeks ago, accepted by the club and contract was agreed in principle by the player. Looked like it was all done, dusted and just waiting to go through.
Today, fresh bids have been received by the club from Norwich and Celtic (I believe in both cases MORE than QPR have offered). These bids have also been accepted. CMS has set his heart on going to QPR, so he can be nearer his family in London. However, he has agreed to talk to Norwich and Celtic out of respect for the Peterborough and to get them the best deal.
