I find it amazing how some people arnt a little more clued up on this sort of thing...

Shittu: Signed a 6 month deal, therefore soon he will be a free agent but for the time being will be attempting to get in Neil Warnocks prem squad and will try to impress for a new deal.

Rowlands and Cook: Their clearly not on todays list because they are players we will realistically be able to get fee's for. Plus id assume both still have time left on their contracts.

Same go's for Vine and Borrowdale.. Time left on their contract so rather than just release then the club will try and get fee's/ loan them out..

Leon Clarke: Everyone knows he has time on his deal, another year i think, so why would he be released!.. He will be sold im sure or loaned out to a championship club..

The 8 that went today are the ones who are out of contract or cost peanuts to get rid of..
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

What I'm amazed at is that Mahon was given a new contract every month, never played, never even on the bench and has now been released!
          Why did we do that?
Was he the tea boy or something?
Seems a bit bizarre, to say the least...
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Faurlin and Derry never got injured late in the season. If either had been out for a few weeks, Mahon could have been involved.

He was very short-term cover, who thankfully was'nt needed in the end.

I love the way some are getting their nickers in a twist...Dave

That's an initial lot to be released. We can get money for some of the others. I'm sure if that fails, they won't be part of the matchday squad, no matter what. Some people crack me up with over reaction.

Just another reason to moan for some people.

You know what you're problem is..

You're looking back in hindsight at things and then make a decision you know better.

Mahon was clearly kept on for a reason.. Back up for Derry for instance... Dont be so shocked by certain decisions, the people making them know what they are doing..

Yes, because when we lost both Rowlands and Mahon the season before, we continued to look good, didn't we?

He may never had played, but if we'd lost Derry, we'd have been in trouble. We faultered towards the end as it was.

If he was back-up, why was he never at least on the bench?
btw, I'm not commenting in hindsight, I thought as much at the time, and the decision to keep giving Mahon contracts was questioned by many.
And he was out on loan to Palace for the last part of the season anyway.

Dave she's got a point, think your trying to be too clever and tripping up
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

As I say Swanley, we needed backup. You have a point about him not making the bench, but that's not the be all, really. If we'd lost Derry, Mahon would no doubt have started for the games he was needed. Players like him are very effective within a team. I sincerely doubt NW kept him on for the fun of it.

You have to admit, Mahon played an important part in our previous season, when fit.

Helguson will definitely stay, Ramage one year, I think, Big Dan, if no club wants him, will stay, but Warnock I think , would prefer to offload him. JMO.
