QPR face a fight with Blackburn to sign John Carew, who's available on a free transfer since being released by Aston Villa.

..The big Norwegian impressed at Stoke during his loan spell, but Tony Pullis decided not to offer the 31-year-old a permanent deal, leaving the door open for newly promoted Rangers, and newly rich Rovers.

Carew previously stated his desire to remain at the Britannia, but a move to the capital would likely appeal to the 6ft 4in striker now that a switch to Stoke seems out of the question.

ps: I like the last line about how Long is another option though Carew's premiership experience might prove more attractive to rangers - so nothing to do with carew being on a free transfer then...

He loves a night out in London. Villa mate of mine often sees him on train after games!

Yes,Carew linked to QPR and Blackburn. It was in the news(Norwegian RUNDFUNK,lol) NRK radio, ahead of our (Norway) qualifier for the european championship against Portugal on saturday.

Apperently,Carew did train with the rest of the squad today( How long will his back last this time?)
But still a quality striker. Top class.
