That's the point. People come on here and make up any old nonsence. 90% of it is proves to be wrong, which probably means that pure guess work would give you a higher hit rate.

I don't have any problem with that at all...even if none of it was right, but anonymous posting of rumours - now that is going too far.

No they don't, but it doesn't add to the credibility around here - and I have as much right to make that point as they have to make theirs...through someone else!

I think this piece of new is very likely to be correct. When someone wants to buy a football club, a football player or an old car, the first bid isn't likely to be the final one. The bidder wants to test the water first, maybe get a counterbid and start the process rolling. It would be strange if there wasn't contact between the respective sellers and buyers in this process, even though the first bid was rejected. I can't understand why so many people on this message board are so upset that the first bid hasn't been accepted immediately. It is blantant obvious that this is a process that will take some time.

As I have said all along, the Mittels will be back with an improved offer.

With all due respect, I think this is yet again stating the obvious. They didn't keep their shares for fun.

So even if they do table a successful takeover bid, Amit will not be returning, as Pete seems so adamant about...

I hope they can pull the deal off!

I feel that Flav and Bernie must want to sell the club now, they are only here for one reason, to see a profit. The club is at its most valuable now, money coming in from Sky, no money yet spent on new players. Any new purchaser will want to own the club lock stock and barrell, the Mittals may not want to sell which in my opinion will make it harder for Flav and Bernie to sell, so agreeing a deal with the Mittals will see them getting the maximum profit now

the big problem you have here is that bernie and flavio want to sell they are unlikely to invest too much , if the mittals get it at the end of the summer its left too late to get the players in, time is very mich of an essence as you cant blame bernie for not investing more as it will eat into their profit, liken it to selling your house your not likely to spend oto much if its not going to add to the selling price, one way or the other it needs to be sorted quickly i hope that bernie has a time frame on it so that if they dont do the deal there is still time to invvest to protect our first season back in the pl

I would rather the Mittal family get the club in August and we go down than not at all. I trust them and the long term stability of club is the most impotant thing.

Look at WBA, every other season for them over the last few years has been promotion,I could live with a season like last season a few more times.

am i the only who that putting the faith in the mittals may be a bit premature? there is no guarantee they will dip in they have had their chances to own the club and didnt do nothing about it, think we all need to remember we are merely the plaything to very rich men and as such liable to their whims , its very rare unless someone rich enough to buy a club they support that they are doing it for honorable reasons (take abramovich and city lot out)
