Terrible ref

felt the ref got the big decisions.. and didnt ruin the final by sending the guy off for the 1st pen.

only criticism was the swansea cb's being all over long when he had his back to goal.

Here's a bit of controversey - I agree with the original poster. Thought that was a dire performance to be honest. Yes the first pen was a foul but you can't judge his performance on getting that decision right alone. He blew against Reading for about a dozen fouls in the first half that simply were not fouls - Swans players go down very easy and seem to replicate the continental approach to that part of the game too - not a balanced performance because he failed to give Reading free kicks for similar challenges - and once or twice he signalled advantage to Swans as well when there had been a foul - by a Swans player rather than the other way round - all 50 50's went the Welsh way and I just thought he was poor. Oh and the handball in the Swans box - agree with the fact it would have been a harsh pen so no problem there but the reason the ref didn't give it was because he was so far behind the play he simply didn't see it - so for him there was no tough decision to make.

IMO he was poor, albeit not due to the penalty decisions he made.

It may not say why but in general terms I think it's a fair comment for the reasons I've stated. Just felt he was poor on the day.

Thanks for clarifying the whole post Clearly his issue was more with the welsh side getting promoted than the ref having a bad day

I dont mind a Welsh team being in the English league as long as everyone plays under the same rules - Ie not governed by The FAW.
From what I understand, the Premier League have insisted that all clubs have to agree to be governed by the FA or they don't get in..
