...but this part of Bernie and Flavio's statement really confused me:

"the year-on-year increase in the standard price of a Season Ticket for the majority of fans is between 22%-27%, or 16%-21% when taking account of inflation and the increase in VAT."

Well, mine and Josie's is probably one of the lowest increases, and it amounts to a 40% rise.
Are any of your increases within the price brackets above? Because I can't find one as low as they are saying.

Gold 2010 £550 23 games = £23.91 per game. Gold 2011 £759 19 games = £39.95 per game. percentage increace = 67% increace.

I think mine was £525 in LL (silver) plus £99 x 2 for my sons, so £723 in total, but £687 with early bird. If I apply the new VAT rate to last year the equivalant price would have been £717. Renewal is £899 so the rise in the net price is about 25% for us. If you consider the Consumer Price Index has increased around 5% these fit with the statement.

However, if you take into account the change in the number of games it has gone from just under £30 per match to over £47, an increase of 58%. So like many things in life they are doing the maths to suit their message.

So, per game, your increase is more than 25% and mine is greater than 40%.

So, allowing for those 4 fewer games...
Yours -- £17.40 per game up to £26.26 per game = 51% increase.
Mine -- £ 12.40 per game up to £21 per game = 69% increase.

I'm even more mystified by what was put in that statement now.

Hmmm, I don't think THAT comes between 21 and 25 on a number line any more than my 69% does...shocking increase.

What bugs me, is, we have just been in a really sticky situation for saying something on the website which turned out to be "puff" (or "lie", as the FA report said).

We now have a really measurable statement, ie: the % increases on ST's -- but they are clearly nowhere near what this statement says they are. This statement isn't on the website, but is clearly an official club statement from the club's media manager (or mis-manager).

Misleading spin spoilt our promotion season for us -- could this do the same next season? Massive fine for it this time, if we do it again they will come down on us MUCH harder.
