I see a lot of fans venting their frustration on the various message boards now in light of all news coming from the board room of QPR. I see some much supported posters also pulling out completely and others stating that they cannot any longer enjoy the onfield success we are having at the moment.
I think it is time to put the situation into perspective. The way I see it is simply two owners being right in the middle of a normal, business like process of determining the right price for the shares. Bernie (and Flavio) wants to sell and Mittal wants to buy. The initial offer, if quotes from the media are to be believed, is £50m for the outstanding 67% shares up for sale. It is mentioned somewhere than Bernie wants £100m - but supposedly none of us know, really. However, I feel pretty sure Bernie wants to sell - todays email backs this point of view.
When a sales process in any company of great public interest is going on, media plays an important role, and the two respective groups of owners try to make most out of it, by launching their respective PR campaigns. The sacking of Sahksena and the withdrawal of Amit from the board is part of the the fight. I do not think we should let ourselves be distracted from it. We should let the owners sort out their price arguments - it will come to a conclusion, but it will probably take some time. If I should guess, they will find some middle ground and meet at £75m after some more noise. In the meantime Warnock has all shareholders backing and probably a fair budget in order to strengthen the team.
We should count ourselves very happy having two rich owners fighting out whom should own QPR. Most other supporters of small clubs like ours would cut off the leg in order to be in our position - having reached the promissed land and having financially strong owners.
I admit the owners make us look like a soap opera from time to time, but I don't care - it seems to be part of the package of supporting QPR - never a dull moment. What is most important though: We are Premier League and we have Warnock! What a bloody good time to be a QPR fan!
