  • What will make you renew/buy a ST?

Many on here, and other boards for that matter, are manking on about prices, FB and BE 'mugging us of' etc etc, but what would make you buy?

A ST offers PL football at £34 per game, very very reasonable in my book, match-day prices are a different matter.

If we spend £30m on players, Crouch, DJ Campbell, Charlie Adams,Cole and a couple of centre backs, to name a few, and create a better all round matchday experience - discount vouchers for food, drink, more and better toilets, club shop discount etc etc would you buy? or is your gripe really with FB and BE?
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Well, for me its simple, I will renew as long as I can afford it. See I go to watch the football, and while I might not be happy with what is going on off the pitch, I go to see and support my TEAM. We've had dodgy owners, good owners and bad owners, the same with players and managers, and to be honest we've had some pretty rubbish fans to contend with at times.
It makes me laugh when people say they won't renew because of "lack of ambition" or some dopey reason, blimey I remember reading some people saying they would never watch Rangers again when Rodney Marsh got sold, I bet most of em crawled back the following year as we got promoted!
I think I can just about afford to renew this year, next year-who knows?

It's very sad that fans may not be able to afford a ST. It is alot of money. However unfortunately football is a luxury these days. To watch it on the tele is 30 pounds a month for sky minimum. I will renew as I am in a position too but if I had a family, mortgage I could see me picking and choosing. My message for those people is try an enjoy our first year back in the prem. Go out with a bang. I want the same faces sitting around me, hugging each other, arguing with each other. We are one big unhappy family let's keep the plastic fans out! One more year come on

I need to work out whether it will be cheaper to Renew or 'Pick and choose', I have just started a new job so there will be games I cannot attend anyway.
I will now wait until the matchday prices have been issued, and I feel they need to do this quick, without knowing specific matchday prices I cannot work out if I am going to be saving money either.

I suppose the upside of me having a ST is I will definately see the big games (if not working) and not having to wait for available tickets. Also it will give me 1st dibs on away games of which is probably the only chance if i want to go to the likes of OT, SB, Emir etc.

Hang on I think I've just talked myself into renewing, that is if i am correct re the away games, am I?

True, looks like renewing it is then.
Just one question, if i renew as a ST holder but want to change location, am i still classed as a renewal?
Also does anyone remember these 2 open days they were going to have to 'choose your seat' what happened to that?

Will be classed as renewing alot of people move. If I was sitting on my own I think I would look at downgrading to maybe silver but that won't happen. Out of interest how does every1 pay for their ticket. One hit, credit card etc?

To much. Families should be looked after. I'm happy to pay my 750 but the club need to look after families more or they risk losing four fans!

Sotonsuperhoop - my ST next year will be £760....£40 a game....I'm not happy about this but I accept London Club + Prem League Football = expensive.

However my gripe is this.....at some point a number of people involved in QPR Football Club would have sat down and had a meeting. In this meeting someone would have suggested 'how about we charge those desperate/stupid fans an extra £35 on top of their ST to get priority to buy tickets for their mates and also offer loyalty points that way they'll all wanna go away games and so all will cough up the extra money' This decision was then agreed. This is the example of our Club having no regard for us, the fans. Its simply an unforgiveable money making activity to squeeze as much money out of those people that kept the club alive in the dark days. This is why I am so angry and this policy decision alone has made resent those decison makers and has made me even more detached from my club.

My gripe is also about Loyalty points not carrying over so those that went to Swansea/Boro/Burnley/Blackburn last year could miss out going to White Hart Lane this year.....

And my final gripe is not giving us a free cup game.....whats the harm.

So, you see its not just about the Prices or about FB and BE, its the football club in general - seemingly sticking their fingers up to the most loyal fans that carried this club in the past and will do so again in the future.....

                        Very well put.

Also much as it gone up in the 4 years they have been here.

Problem is we are now in the prmiership and its a different ball game altogether.

There not thinking about us. There business men. If I was a billionaire we would have it all but cause their not fans they don't think. Swings and roundabouts. I personally don't think a fan owner can take your a club to the top. Doesn't work, goes so far then they can't compete. Man united fans get money automatically taken out of their accounts! I think loftus road would be a mass grave if that happened here.

Pete - I agree Prem League is a different ball game but take Stoke City for example....they have a history of really looking after their fans and this didnt stop when they got promoted to the Prem....the outcome is the fans really get behind the Club and the team now ever more than ever. They accept its a two way street!

Im concerned about how this plays out....just like the last price hike, the resentment in the stands began with the board....but before long it was directed towards an under achieving team too...

There really do need to have another meeting about the match day tickets ! Even a prawn sandwich muncher might think twice about paying them prices . There,s no doubt in my mind that the Attendances will not reach 15000 against the likes of WBA Wigan and so on
