  • Flavio Briatore

I have been a regular visitor to this site since it started but I hardly ever post. I have, like the rest of you, read all of the different threads regarding AB, IS, BE & FB.

Can someone please try and explain exactly what Briatore's position is at the club?

As I understand it, Bernie bought his shares at some point last year (around the time that Warnock was appointed). Did FB retain a smaller shareholding?

It has been reported that the Mittals own 33% of the club. Does anyone know the breakdown of the remaining 67%?

The reason I am asking these questions is to try to understand FB's involvement and apparent renewed interest. If he owns 10% or less, surely he does not have the authority to make major decisions ie ticket prices, signing of players, managerial appointments etc etc.

Can anyone shed any light on this with fact rather than speculation?

I am a STH and have been supporting QPR for over 32 years. This should be a time to celebrate our return to the top flight but I really fear for our football club if FB is involved (again) in the day to day running and decision making at LR.

I think Bernie Ecclestone owns majory shares and has and is obliged to sell to Briatore if he wants to sell.
    QPR fan since1987

After all Briatore was just on a kind of gardening leave!

But we have to stick to them both from now on. Like it or not!

Can I just ask why exactly we have to stick with them both from now on?

They are simply temporary custodians of our great club. We the fans are the lifeblood of the club. we have stuck through it through thick and thin.

We have every right to stand up for ourselves and what we believe in, after all if we hadn't done it in the past we would now be supporting Fulham Park Rangers or the MK Hoops (or much more likely AFC QPR).
A message to the other Premier League clubs when they visit Loftus Road.....

To be fair, not really answering the question and anyway BE is not obliged to sell to FB, he has to offer him first refusal. There is a significant difference.

I guess that after over 170 views and only 2 replies, no one really knows!

          Sums it up.

            I think BE owns 62%
            Which leaves 5%.
FB may own a small amount, likewise other small shareholdings (GP, other directors, those on the Baord and of course less than 1% are fans who bourght from Chris Wright many years ago.
We've no voting rights but I still get the Company's Annual results through each year. So those shares may still be valid, if not for voting with - not that we'd influence any vote in any way).

Trouble is with BE and FB being such good 'firends', I suspect officially BE buying FB's shares was a smokescreen to ward off the FL/FA around the fit & proper person rules when FB was banned from participating in sport following investigations into cheating in F1 (and putting his drivers life at risk !)
So I suspect, the 'Bernie can't sell without giving first refusal to Flavio', story is just another way of saying, Flavio is still VERY much involved - unofficially of course.

If you find a way to get rid of them.go ahead. I will support you and others, no problem. But how?

I read somewhere that the 62% shares owned by BE have been actually 'managed' by FB.
Also, now premier league has been achieved, BE will offer those shares back to FB, now that the dust has settled re his alleged F1 cheating escapade.

                  Thanks QPR1976.

So basically speaking, FB owns F*** all and all media reports suggesting he want's a foreign mananger etc etc must be lazy journalism as it is not his decision to make.

The sooner that bloke is detached from this club 100% the better. He is like a bad smell and a disaster waiting to happen.
