The nitty gritty, the hard work.. the stream lining of the club (check the finances now compared to a year ago) were whole heartedly down to Bhatia and Saksena. They slashed costs left, right and centre as the boutique module was unsustainable. They are the business men, dont be fooled by profile.

As for January transfers... All board acquiesced. The real hard work though...? Bhatia and Warnock. Saksena and Paladini also did their fair share during this period.

Look at the history of the last 4 years, look at who has been steering the ship during those moments and ally that to the success on the pitch... you get the idea...

Sorry Pete but Fishcake is bang on! We're in the Premier League because the stability that was brought to the board room when Amit and Saksena got involved.

I don't disagree that Bernie and Falvio have invested heavily but on the flip side, how much money was wasted in the managerial merry-go-round that preceded Warnock's appointment?

I have to say, I really fear for how this season is going to end up with Flavio and Bernie back at the helm!

So why was Ishan sacked ?

I read suggestions of outrageous slurs (not specific)
I see reference to the FA enquiry on the Official site post regards him leaving the club.

I imagine someone else squirming with regards comments printed in black & white (and red on this board) by the 'Independant Committee' report on the Faurlin case.
I see Amit leave, Mittals offer being snubbed.
I see Bernie changing his mind.
        I see a re-emergence of Flavio.

Maybe I am putting 2+2 together and making 5 ?
BUT, it's not rocket science is it ?
Nor unlikely, until I read otherwise from an official source, my opinion is Saksema has been made a scapegoat for GP's ineptitude and unprofessional actions over Faurlin. It's not like he has no history - in court !

There may well be other contributary factors for Ishan leaving, if so, I imagine they will be used to justify his sacking, but right now, from where I'm sitting.......

The one thing I object to here is the suggestion that if the Mittals were really into the project they would have invested properly and backed the whole plan financially. Sorry but that is a proper fantasy when (as has been publicised clearly over a long period of time) they are minority shareholders. Rich or not, their input (due to minority) will have meant little, no say in what actually happens even if they threw millions into the bargain. If and only if they had secured a significant (and majority) holding would they have any say over how the Club was run, including who stays and who goes etc.......

Would you throw your hard earned into a project without a proper say in how it was used and no real rights if and when push comes to shove? Let's face it, they have been dealing with two blokes who have bigger ego's than than they have bank balances - I know I would put my cash behind them without any proper say in the Club's affairs.

What exactly did Lakeshmi Mittal do for the club last season?

I think its a perception of seeing the worlds richest man at our club, that if he wanted could be buy the club, it will be like small change to him

I don't think he wanted it enough, despite the smiling face and the enormous great reaction he got from the fanbase.

We see Mittal as our mate, when in reality he miles away from our kind of world. He has great success we can only dream of, but the reality is Flavio and Bernie have all the sporting background.

My wife works for a family of Greek shipping billionaires who are good friends with the family of Lakeshmi Mittal.
When she mentioned to him that QPR would be the next Chelsea he just laughed and said something along the lines of, their not his family, their not Indians and they won't make him money.
Make of that what you will!!

I certainly think you're right about the big smile I'm your friend stuff and as you quite rightly say if he intended to bankroll QPR to any extent it would be just pocket change.

If you can get in touch with Amit, make sure you mention to him that you have questioning what him and his family have done for the club. it might provide him with some clarity as to which "supporters" message boards he engages with.
