  • Basic economics

If we have a smaller capacity stadium than other clubs then it makes perfect sense that we will have to pay more per head than most other clubs in the premier league.

Most of you seem want premiership football at league one prices. It is not going to happen.

There is little point comparing ourselves to other clubs if most of them get twice the gate that we do. Even some league 1 cluns get more through the gate than us!!

    Jesus.

Surrey you fail to explain why we would have to pay more?, these clubs buy top quality players and pay high wages. If we have to compete like for like then your 'basic economics' would apply. From the signings being suggested so far i would think a sliding scale on wages and transfers paid out to relate to ticket priceas would make our tickets about 20 quid.

Well Fulham's ground is only marginally more than ours and their prices are far less.

but fans are being asked to pay the same to watch lower standard players, fair enough.

I don't know how Fulham remain competitive. Perhaps thethe owners plough in more funds than we realise.

basic economics alot of good loyal fans are gonna be priced out of going to watch a club that they have not just invested in with their money but also with a lot of emotion! people who have in the past put it on the line for this club, so you can take your basic economics crap and shove it mate the pricing aint fair and if you cant see that your blind!

To an element I agree with you, hence I was making the point earlier that we should look to move ground to lower prices.

I think people are more hacked off at the way Ecclestone / Briatore are literally trying to rip the backsides off people all for the wrong reasons. On the other hand Amit genuinely seemed to have the clubs interests at heart

I didnt say it was fair. But I can't see why everyone is so shocked! We all want to have a chance at staying up, don't we? People that say we were better off in league one but I suspect people would be singing a very different tune if we had been relegated last season.

surrey.....amit is gone and there is a good chance that warnock/adel etc could also follow him out the door.we will spend a very small amount of monies we will recieve for having finally gained promotion so where does all this fit into the economics. this is now about a lot more than an increase in prices. should we aim for the lowest number of points ever in the prem because we have one of the smallest crowds ever in the prem. speculate to accumulate....just don,t do it by screwing your loyal fan base.

The other point not mentioned is 'matchday experience'.

At LR if youre 5'8" or above it is a very uncomfortable experience being literally squashed like sardines into a very tight space with zero leg room. The club's statement about prices being in line with other London prem clubs is an incorrect comparison for this very reason.

At all those other London clubs there is more leg room, less cramped concourses etc etc.
