So was Beckford. Not many gave him a hope in hell of being a success at Everton. He's looked pretty decent. I actually think Danny is a better prospect. He's made massive leaps in the last three years of his career.

Don't disagree about the reports, some good posters but I give it a wide berth now because its more of a news forum than a QPR forum.

Yet we feel we'll get nearer £10m for Taarabt who's already flopped in the Prem. In fairness to SEB, he's not had as much game time as I'd have expected, and although he's not been scoring too regular, he's still looked a handful. I'd still take him at Rangers.

That's a fair point though difference with Taarabt is he has the potential to do pretty well anything in football - not saying he will as just as likely to become a bit of a "what might have been" player like a Matthew Le Tissier - but with a player like Graham its easier to predict his level. Potential to be a Doyle type striker - v gd, but not sensational.

I think talk of throwing over £4m big ones at unproven Premiership talent is the economics of the mad house, precisely what this board is determined not to do. The squads of Brum, West Ham etc are no doubt littered with unproven talent bought for that kind of money.

If DG has a release clause of £2.5M in his contract, as some people have said, no agent would allow a club to pay 1p more than that figure, but would load his clients wages instead. Newcastle could also pay more than us so we screwed either way, unless DG wants to stay south at this time in his career.
