Robbie Keane poll

Robbie Keane is a very capable striker & one who knows where the net is. Forget him playing a bit part for a sh!te WHU side in turmoil at a settled club I'd back him to do well.
This has 100% got legs, got told from an impeccable source on Saturday, W12 Ranger knows the source & I'm sure will agree its top notch.
Sign him up!!
Keane's a no brainer, I never understand how fans write players off after a bad season, look at Keanes pedigree and what he brings to the table for a club our size.
You look at Kevin Phillips who is still going, Giggs, Scholes etc. At 32 a lot of players are still in their prime. Keane at his peak was a World Class player, his first touch and movement of the ball will astound our younger fans. Who the hell are we as fans to turn our noses up a player of Keanes capability.
The whole logic behind this amazes me if he was still firing on all cylinders we would not be getting linked with him its a simple as that. Robbie Keane without a shadow of doubt bar a transfer coup for Peter Crouch would be the biggest signing this club has made in many a year...in actual fact probably the biggest in my lifetime.

Sammy, I would prefer CMS, Boothroyd (if he stayed central), Kevin Phillips and Danny Graham added to Troy Hewitt as they are all better options than Keane IMO and you would probally get them all for not a lot more than Keane gets in a week.Last edited by paulmason; 24-05-2011, 11:40 AM.

The world has gone insane. Insane I tells yer...
CMS over Keane. Stevenage Borough and Peterborough over Inter, Spurs, Celtic and Ireland.....Lordy, Lordy, Lordy.....Phillips? 38 years old, Birmingham reserve, slower than Captain Slow and admits himself he believes can do a job for someone in the Championship...
Still, opinions are like @rseholes. Everyone has one...

All of your names here ( bar Phillips ) are unproven in the Premiership. It is our first season and will be hard enough to stay up. You cannot afford risks/gambles on players who may perform at the highest level when buying them. You need experience and people who know where the goal is at the highest level. Like Keane.

This means CMS will jump from League 1 to the Premiership and fire goals in for fun. He would struggle to do this on Championship Manager let alone real life!
Plus Beckford scored a hatful in the championship before moving to the Prem. For the record CMS scored 10 goals in his championship stint. Hardly premiership pedigree. I would rather see Nodge up front for us next season ( no offence Nodge! )

Originally posted by paulmason View PostWow, i have heard it all, so as Everton are an established PL team, they are playing Beckford all the time, even though he is not good enough to play in the PL.
And that's not even the point, people are saying that they'd rather have CMS than Robbie Keane! I'd rather go out and get a proven Premiership striker to help us stay up than a league 1 striker come winger.
