Jan Stejskal was quality although don't really remember Hucker. Seaman was the best Keeper I ever saw down LR but I think Kenny has the ability to be 1 of the top keepers in the league and I rate him higher than Robert Green. Under pressure I know who i'd rather rely on and its not dodgy Green.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Stejskal was an absolute liability as was Roberts who use to come in was Stejskal was dropped for one too many ricketts and vice versa. Kenny is twice the keeper Stejskal was.

        Stejskal was an excellent keeper.

Where would you rank him, I'd have him above the likes of Howard and Gomes straight away.

          For me

          Van Der Saar
          Hart
          Riena
          Cech
          Our Paddy?
Been saying it for quite some time now he's in the top 5 keeper in England at the minute. I watch a lot of football (how the missus puts up with me I don't know). Missed 5 games of ours this season 4 aways and Millwall at home (as annoyingly I won a golf competition at work and had to stay for the presentation). Some of his saves this season have been quite sublime, forgive me if I am wrong but constantly I witnessed stuff I've not seen from a previous keeper in a hoops shirt and all in his 1st season.

I know what ur saying there Nodge but i think the reason we kept 25 clean sheets was not down 2 the meanest defence in English football

It was more down 2 the class of Kenny. He kept us in games more than the job the defence did in those 46 games.

So 4 that Kenny would b in top 5 to 7 in prem league at mo

Exactly nothing to do with the past, or how many games a keeper has played in the PL or reputation. Going into the new season we have one of the top 5 keepers about at present, Kenny will be the difference between us staying up or going down.

Personally I'd say right off the bat he's below:

                Hart
                Cech
                Reina
                VDS
                Friedel
                Foster
                Robinson (great form ATM)
                Jaaskelainen
                Begovic
                Howard
                Given
                Schwarzer

                I'd even argue he's below Mignolet & Al-Habsi.

I love Kenny, he's been top class for us this season and won't disgrace himself in the Prem, but I certainly wouldn't put him in the top 10 keepers.

He wasn't always in and out of the team though. Dykstra only played 5 games. Stejskal and Roberts shared in Stejskal's first season when he was still getting used to the top flight and the language. From then on, Stejskal was clearly no.1 only not playing when injured. Was our last world class keeper.

Kenny, who I DO rate, not even third choice for Ireland.

Why do people think Van Der Saar is good? hes useless!! Flappiest goalkeeper I've ever seen, worse than Cech, Cech used to be good, now hes just a bag of nerves, it should go:

                    Hart
                    Reina
                    Jaaskelainen
                    Given
                    Kenny
                    Cech

Stejskal was very shaky in my opinion I was only 13-15 at the time so my memory may not be as good as yours but what a remember of Stejskal was a very indecisive keeper, capable of some proper clangers as well.

I remember him being dropped I believe after some real dodgy performances which culminated in Eddie McGoldrick lobbing him from about 35 yards in a 1-3 defeat against Palace at home. I was there when he saved a pen at St James Park, there were good moments with him in goal but to refer to him as world class is laughable. He may well be the last decent keeper we had before Kenny but Kenny is twice the keeper IMO and I feel a lot more comfortbale with him in goal.

Apart from his first 15 minutes away at leeds he was immense,i rated him better than Seaman who couldn't stop anything hit at him from more than 20 yards.

Stejskal was world class. Probably the best keeper I've seen down at Rangers in 35 years once he got his head around the back pass rule. Let's see Kenny do it consistently in the top half of the top flight season after season in the same way Stejskal, Seaman, Parkes and Hucker did before we go too overboard.

Kenny is a good goalkeeper though made enough errors this season (didn't always result in goals) to know he's never going to get near the likes of Stejskal and Seaman.

I'm not having this, the more I think about it the more I realise just how many games I see Stejskal play. The man couldn't catch a cold, teflon gloves he was. A serious weak link in that Premier League side of the 90's were the goalkeepers who were both liabilities without a doubt. He left the club at 32 years on a free transfer, hardly a world beater IMO but each to there own, all I could remember was how nervous both he and Roberts made me feel when they played.

At least get your facts straight, Dykstra came to QPR after Stejskal left

                                Stejskal was a great keeper
