  • Where does Paddy Kenny rank for you amongst Premiership goalies?

I think its safe to say there are number of goalies you'd sooner have Paddy over in PL teams.

Where would you rank him, I'd have him above the likes of Howard and Gomes straight away.

    For me

    Van Der Saar
    Hart
    Riena
    Cech
    Our Paddy?

Good shout! He is certainly up there with the very best.

Mr Warnock we love you what a shrewd bit of business that was!

despite the fact that they are getting on a bit, i'd say that

      Tim Howard
      Brad Friedel
      Jussi Jaaskalinen

are all probably better than Kenny, plus they all have about 500 appearances in the top flight behind them...

having said that, he's easily in the top 10 in the league, and better than anything That Arsenal or Spurs have...

Would probably put Shay Given above Paddy Kenny

Most of the PL goalkeepers are another notch above Kenny IMO.

He's probably better than the likes of Gilks, Hennessy, Sorensen and Harper/Krul but not quite as good as Schwarzer, Friedel, Foster, Green, Al-Habsi or Howard. VDS, Cech, Reina etc are world class keepers of any generation

I don't agree and I think i'll leave it there. The way you are wheeling off names I am suprised u didn't want to add your spurs legend Gomes
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

                        i

i think that the last seasons performance was the best ever for a qpr goalkeeper I still rate parkes and seaman above paddy kenny, but i think he is the third greatest goal;keeper ever to play for qpr and i think he next season could well be in the top five goalkeapers in the country

                            I was being diplomatic!

Seriously though, what is the max transfer fee you honestly think we could get for Kenny and the max transfer fee say Bolton could get for Al-Habsi? (he's only on loan at Wigan). What sort of market do you think there is for a goalie in Kenny's peer group (say Speroni, Westwood and Lewis)? Not dissing Kenny at all, just realistically looking at ability, perception and the transfer market.

He's had one season in the Championship in front of the meanest defence in English football and not even a regular international. Hardly challenging the likes of Jan Stejskal or Peter Hucker.

Give it time before we make such illogical leaps of faith.
