  • Another thread on the "buyout"

    Maybe it's not happening

Interesting, as this actually quotes someone important rather than all the rest of the paper talk with quotes from 'a club insider'!

Could just be posturing, but he wasn't denying selling, sounds to me like he is selling to Mittal but is just haggling, same as he was when saying his shares are worth £100m.

This will NOT be sorted tomorrow. It's gonna run and run.

Seems they are playing games with each other. I for one don't understand why.

Mittal makes take it or leave it offer.
Now it will be a name your price offer on Monday.

Bernie says he wants to sell and even suggests £100M as a price.
Now he suggests we're NOT for sale.

Apparently there was going to be a big board meeting last Thursday.
Yet rumours suggest it happened Tue, Wed and/or Thu ?
Wouldn't FB & BE have been in Spain late last week ?
How likely are they to be back in London tomorrow ?

          £40M transfer kitty ? £50M transfer kitty ?
Yet elsewhere £5M or £10M max.

I suspect these leaks are solely designed to sell S/T's and expect prices to be announced long before any changes in ownership.

Main things is, virtually all are now consistant in backing Warnock.
Only one thing for it, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Ecclestone blows hot and cold all the time. One minute he couldnt care less about us the next he wants to hold on to his shares.

Two things we are all concerned about:
                  1) Warnock staying? Seems YES is the answer, so ignore any reports to the contrary.
                  2) When will the ST forms be out? Given that they are often pushed to get them out by the time we need them, I can see a fair few of us not getting them in time.

Ownership is third on my list, unless it affects 1 and 2.

                    Think Bernie won't sell personally.

So the Mittals released the story to the Sun or am I missing something?

This is the Sun we're talking about!!
Remember Murdoch is anti-Bernie and will use opportunities to cause whatever mayhem or disharmony he can.

I can't see this being sorted soon either, to us Qpr is the works but they both have far bigger and more important business's that will be priority over us, but I do think the Mittals have become fond of the club and saw a blink of success, Ecclestone I doubt ever will care and probably thinks the easiest sure option is the Mittals, but both want the best deal.

But Bernie was quoted as saying the Mittals made the statement.

Perhaps someone TOLD him that they had made the statement, or he was going purely on press reports that they had said that.
Call me cynical, but I just won't believe stuff like this in the tabloids ever again,
