Stainrod, isn't your assumption about how rich people think just as generalised as the other statements here? Isn't there a bloke at Chel**** who spends and spends and spends his wealth on his team? And for what financial reward would you suggest he has gotten?

Maybe this kind of language is considered OK down at a BNP meeting but if it continues to appear on here then I will no longer be visiting.

Just don't think you need to bring nationalities into it. Quite happy to accept you are not generally a racist and don't want to start an argument but as soon as you start making statements like "Indians do x and Americans do y", then honestly...
Bernie is a former second hand car salesman for goodness sake - by all accounts as tight as a badger's proverbials but I don't see anyone on here saying "typical Englishman, so tight."
Re Ozzie's point and rich people: one thing rich peole have in common (those who have made their money rather than lucked into it) is that they are very, very sharp. I am not rich myself (sadly) but have met a lot of people who are and I've yet to meet a stupid one. All I'm saying - and I thought it was quite an obvious point - is that all the boardroom players will negotiate hard, they aren't just going to get all emotional and say "awe, I love little ol' QPR so much I'm going to give you twice the price that I could get another comparable club for".

At the end of the day I want the right peeps in control of our much loved club who will bring big names for hefty ST increases which I don't mind paying if the quality of football matches.

Just a final point for the hard of hearing & hard of intelligence:
Neither Mittal nor Ecclestone are fans of QPR.
Mittal bought into QPR as a cheap investment as a nice place to entertain clients & friends and a vehicle to further sport in his native India, as seen by the increasing presence we have over there now.
Mittal would've happily gone along as when he first came in if our reputation hadn't hit rock bottom. The attempts to buy out Flav are aimed at cleaning up the corporate image of his investment, not to drive the club he loves forward.
Even if you are worth £50bn, does NOT mean you have £50bn in paper money. Even to Mittal, £100m is not loose change, especially when the shares were bought for c.£20m a few years back.
