Mittal doesn't love the club, he essentially invested with his mates to have a place for his mates to go of a weekend.
He would buy out Flav & Bernie to clean up a brand he is associated with and then bring in fellow investors.
If the price being asked is ridiculous he will cut and run.
If I was a multiple billionaire I'd still walk if asked to part with £100m for the rest of the shares.
Spot on!
Why should he pay over market rate, id he could pick up a premiership club like for example Newcastle with a better squad, and wipe out the debt for far less?
He may be associated with us but he is not going to have his pants pulled down for someone to play games

There seems to be an idea that this is some kind of battle between the owners as if they are all bitter enemies.
Remember, they were all happy to peddle the notion that the Mittals had taken control of the club when Flav stepped aside. BE was prepared to fund the club last season whilst Ishan took responsibility for day to day running of the business.
It doesn't appear to me as though there has been anything other than a fairly comfortable relationship, certainly between the main shareholders and probably also with Flav given his continued appearances.
That's not to say that couldn't break down during the current negotiations. But I just don't believe it would be in either the interests of BE or the Mittals to fall out over what, in their terms anyway, is a relatively small business deal.
Mittals want to buy, and BE would be happy to sell. How that would end up with BE buying out the Mittals is beyond me, unless BE has an undisclosed third party happy to buy out everyone at a better offer than the Mittals are prepared to make. So my bet is that either the Mittals, or a completely new name, will own 100& in the near future.

and you're missing the point about the baked beans. i'm not asking what you'd do if you were a billionaire, i'm asking what you would do now, as a normal guy with your normal salary and assets.
would you pay a tenner for a can of baked beans? because that's the equivalent of the mittal's stumping up £100 million for QPR.RUN, MWEPU, RUN! CHARGE FORTH AND BOOT THAT BALL DOWNFIELD MY BOY, YOU MAGNIFICENT CHAMPION YOU!

let's try this for a third and final time:
i assume that you are not a rich man. certainly not the wealth of the mittals.
a can of baked beans costs about 50p. let's make them posh beans with sausages, that cost £1.00
would YOU pay massively over the odds for a can of baked beans, bearing in mind YOUR personal finances right now.RUN, MWEPU, RUN! CHARGE FORTH AND BOOT THAT BALL DOWNFIELD MY BOY, YOU MAGNIFICENT CHAMPION YOU!

You are looking at it as you would look at the situation if you suddenly found you had a few billion tucked behind your sofa - but he isn't a life long fan, he probably doesn't even know who half the players are. He is only ever going to buy QPR at the right price and anyone who expects him to do otherwise really doesn't get it.
As I warned the other day, these negotiations cd go on a while - these are v v clever people, and they don't like making more for anything than they have to.Last edited by stainrodisalegend; 19-05-2011, 10:08 PM.
