Looking around various sites, it would seem that the SOLE source for this rumour was Wally Downes' son, whose father has long since had his own agenda with Neil Warnock after a big touchline bust-up.
Trouble is, like the Sun's 15 points lie, it will be copied and pasted all around the WWW, making it sound like it's true and come from several sources, BUT IT HASN'T. It may turn out to be true, but flimsiest of gossip at the moment.

People, until or unless you hear anything to the contrary, believe nothing a journalist tells you -- especially one whose father has an axe to grind.

      What he said
      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I'm not really sure what the 'problem' is here. There are ongoing board negotiations which may or may not result in either Ecclestone maintaining or Mittal gaining control of the club. I'm very happy that both parties are keen to run our club. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, sure, but if they both wanted to get rid, then I would start to worry.

Why? they haven't spent fu_k all and prob wouldn't spend that much if they bought out the others. Think I did hear Warnock saying only a small budget is available for 2011/2012 season. I think we need someone like Abramovich or Sheikh Mansour (not to over spend like them both but spend enough to have a quality team to compete for maybe top 6)

No offence to Indian's but they are tightest people living in our country and can only see them profiting hugely through QPR and investing very little in return.

Fact is he is a billionaire and invested peanuts into our beloved rangers

Move on, we are QPR and we deserve better now we are in the prem

To a degree that is right.

I really like Amit, very personable and incredibily good at PR. Mittal has not invested too much at all.

Trouble is, definitely been Flavio and Bernie putting in the majority of the money and love them or loathe them, reason why we got promoted.

(of course Warnock was probably main reason)..

Good thing is Warnock gets on well with all of them, can see it being a problem if we lose a few next season.

Gut feeling, we will be left with Bernie and Flav.

If so I can only seeing that being a good thing, means Mittals are too tight to buy out B & F.... Not a good sign IMO

Flavio, I hate him for getting involved in team matters but he and Neil got us promoted no ifs about it.

Also they will attract someone who is willing to spend more on team and poss pay them off.

Neil will get on with anyone especially a owner gives him a better budget for the hardest job in the world to stay in prem with a team lacking real quality apart from Tarbs

Can't see that happening unless we spend around 20-30 million on new players don't forget we just earned around 90 mil it wont be that bad
