What do we think our budget will be on transfers in the Prem?Any in the know have a sniff?When the board took over they spouted that they wanted champions league after promotion,I hope they don't think they're going to achieve that on a shoe string budget in the premier league.I understand that it'll be a gradual process,so for our first season what do you think would be a sensible budget,enabling us to make a mark,and also future budgets after progression?

I honestly think if we are to stay up we will need to spend at least 10 million. Bear in mind stoke spent 10m on two players last year alone (walters and jones)

Am sorry Soton but you are having a laugh. Just read Warno's interview in the Standard. Its clear he's only got a few million to spend. Fully accept that it will be extremely tough to stay up with that but such is the budget. As you say wouldn't be surprised if we end up having to panic buy in January in the hope of staying up but then we will almost certainly be told no one is available.

Think 10 would be the max. Think we'll spend around 7 or 8 and look to bolster the squad rather than 1 or 2 signings. Know Warnock isn't a big fan but might need to get some loanees in.

If the Mittal's buy out Bernie and Flavio on Thursday then £25m is what NW will get. LM has already stated that we need a proven PL goalscorer so I expect around £10m on a striker alone! Amit and NW are 'joined at the hip' and I expect if Neil asks for it Amit will tell the board to give it. I agree this may be 'pie in the sky' if BE and FB stick around

I hope you are right but I suspect you will be sorely underwhelmed this summer.
I dont care how much we spend personally we could get 10 free transfers in for all I care just as long as they improve the team.

will be lucky to beat derbys lowest total of points in prem league if thats the sort of ambition the board have. "great league to be in" "sure the owners will enjoy themselves" well i wont if all we can look forward to are free transfers of the likes of michael brown.

The board are fully aware that NW got us up with a very small transfer budget so I expect they will reward him with a decent purse. We have wealthy and successful owners who don't do failure so I expect quality signings sprinkled with a few PL journeymen and a mid-table finish.

People have speculated about BE, FB etc etc pumping in £600K a month this season to keep us afloat, the 1st years premiership TV money alone would cover this kind of outlay so for the Mittal's to invest £25m knowing that there is a return of over £100m is good business (£100m = 1st year TV money, and if the unthinkable happens, four years of parachute payments)
