last night my daughter was playing a "football festival" at the county ground in swindon. i have been in the away end before but this time had a wander into the newest stand (think it was built in the early 90s) at a guess would say it is about the same or slightly bigger capacity than ellerslie road. the thing is very steep therefore takes up less room for the same capacity. to build a stand on ellerslie footprint that steep could give the capacity required (my guess is 23000 with 3000 away fans)

its about "ancient lights" too, the homes behind have the right to daylight
so we'd have to consider that
the answer is to use as much glass/perspex as possible, and maybe add an "Underhang" addition of say 2000.
of course a cantilever design for SAR would cause less issues, maybe we'd need some support structures to the ground level, but there would be room for pedestrians etc
