I hate articles like this, especially where he has to say something as it's the sort of thing that will make him walk if offered something good.

"Warnock insists he deserves a chance to prove himself again in the top flight.", sounds like he is making a plea or trying to justify his worth. He doesn't need to though surely, does he? Not after overseeing the sort of turnaround we have witnessed in just over a season.
I must be getting old and grumpy mate, as these sort of things really irritate me.

Isn´t he on a 2,5 years contract or so?
What I read out of this article is that he hasn´t been given the warchest he has asked for!
It would be a wize move to listen to the players in this matter, I think they like Warnock and support him 100 percent.
Make it simple and look to Liverpool; I guess their owners were looking for a "Big name" when Hodgson got sacked: Ranieri,Hiddink etc., but Dalglish(club Icon) proved them( and maybe the fans wrong) wrong. The enthusiasm at Anfield is back.
Hence my Bottomlime goes like this; I suggest our Board stick to the man who has done wonders at our club this year, and thrust his ability to improve or handle "premiership-players" aswell.Last edited by Shania; 13-05-2011, 03:42 PM.QPR

Odd interview. Bernie and the Mittals have had nothing but positive things to say about him recently, and even the Flavio quote from months ago was speaking in general (albeit unhelpfully timed) terms rather than specifically complaining about Warnock. Everything since has just appeared to be press speculation based on the drama we had in years previously.
So unless he's actually been told something behind the scenes I have no idea why he's come out and said this stuff unless he's angling for a new contract, more transfer funds, or building up a store of goodwill for tougher times ahead. Or he's just paranoid.

are the papers just looknig for another sensationalistic story involving the comedy scene that is the QPR Board?
I think NW's job is safe. I don't think any of the Board have said "yeh, we're not sure if we're keeping him, we're looking around". They're all been really strong to support him, even Amit who by all intents and purposes calls a lot of the big shots. GP has even offered support.
This could well be just a bit of a push for something to write about imo.

And even if they did. West Ham ?
On that note I'm off to bed. See you in the morning.

I expect The Board to issue a statement of some sort giving their assurances that Nieil Warnock will be our manager for the forseeable future soon. NW is playing the game here and he is far to long in the tooth to make comments like this without a plan behind it. Bhatia and Mittal have already given an interview offering their backing to the manager, he now wants it in writing and I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see a new deal put in front of him at some point, he may even be looking for a pay increase here as well. As for this being a come and get me plea for West Ham, no chance they are club in turmoil we are on the up because of him.
I say give him the assurances and whatever he wants we have one of the best 'managers' around and he is now hot property IMO.Last edited by W12_Ranger; 14-05-2011, 06:55 AM.
