Some big guns over in England for pre season games. Hopefully we can pick up a really good home game to celebrate our return to the PL.

    Real Madrid
    Fiorentina
    Paris Saint Germain
    New York Red Bulls
    Athletic Bilbao
    HSV Hamburg

all playing in England from July 20 - August 13

I am on a scouting miision Sunday Nodge for the Athletico Bilbao game against Malaga

Does anyone remembre that cracking goal by Stueua Bucherest a few years ago when the player volleyed in from a corner kick? One of the best goals I have ever seen at Loftus Rd

It was a corker. I think we still won though.

The club should bust a gut to get a friendly with NY Red Bulls, very good squad who would be halfway through their season and give us a thorough test.

Also a massive marketing opportunity, would sell a lot of merchandise - flags, DVDs, scarfes etc. America is the brave new world for Football and is mushrooming over there. Get in early enough and we could lure some away from the big English sides.

Think were too small a club to get a friendly with them though unfortunately.

the one pre-season ive attended in recent years against anyone half decent was chevo - and it was quite humbling to realise how poor we actually were against a decent side. not sure it wd do the confidence a lot of good. before that think it was celtic - and from memory we lost 5-0. not good.

Shame we are not able to go to New York. They have a great new ground. Not a big fan of pre season but would travel for a game like that.

Llorente. Tell him that he doesn't really want to stay in Bilbao or move to Madrid or White Hart Lane. Loftus Road is where its at!

That Steaua goal was fantastic. Anyone remember the pre season game against Ajax where we were torn a new one by the young Van der Vaart, Sneijder and Ibrahimovic?

NYRB? Nice new ground for sure but small time compared to the Whitecaps, Sounders, Toronto FC and the Revolution. Any MLS side would take a friendly against any PL side.

Red Bulls leading the Eastern Conference & Henry looking like he's found a touch of the old class just recently.

I always keep an eye out for the Sounders & Timbers. Two amazing cities that I've had great times in.

Qwest Field is 'open' to the public on weekdays and I must admit it is an incredible stadium that is absolutely rocking when the Seahawks play.

Would love to see us play the Sounders but I can't imagine we will be having many US Pre-seasons unless we win the FA Cup.

Went over to the Whitecaps for their opening game - unbelievable atmopshere/stadium - just wasn't prepared for that after the low key approach on the East Coast. They have 22,000 season ticket holders, and had to put a cap on any more. Not been to QWEST for either the Seahawks or the Sounders but understand it's bigger and better than Vancouver. MLS seems to have really taken off in the Pacific NorthWest.

Unfortunately wont play any of them.
Pre season will be a replica fo last year.

                            Wycome, Aldershot, Luto etc
With Italy thrown in late July.

Curle said as much on Talksport.

He did indeed say that. And to be fair, there were numerous rumblings that it was not up to standard and that we were only beating 2 bob outfits and should have been getting slaughtered by Spurs or other EPL sides.

The programme ensured the players were fit and ready for the start of the season and confident due to a successful pre-season - then we started with an almighty bang and without doubt, that 19 game unbeaten run was the backbone at least if not arguably the primary reason for our promotion as Champions
