  • Paper Talk Rumours....

QPR have started their preparations for life in the Premier League by making £1.5m-rated Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge's return to the club permanent after a six-month loan spell. Manager Neil Warnock is also interested in Tottenham striker Robbie Keane. (the Times)

Would be happy with that but think Keane's best days are over. Any more today?

Robbie has Prem experience - been 15 years since we've been there!
Might be past it though. Wayne hasn't really got the Prem experience - done all his best work in the Champ.

Yes please, Keane is great ( He just wants to send ****my Wet Spam down, that's all )
              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Keane's a tricky one. The Keane of a couple of years ago would have been way, way out of our range - was a truly brilliant player. But he seems to have lost his mojo a bit. Perhaps Nodge cd explain what the prob is and whether he might get it back.

Keane needs to be felt wanted wherever he is and the team playing to his strengths. Harry felt/feels others could do better than Keane. Given the paucity of goals from Crouch/Pav/Defoe, many Spurs fans have vociferously questioned this. Not been the same since he came back from Liverpool - I don't think Benitez ever wanted him (he wanted Gareth Barry, but Gareth Barry doesn't sell you 50,000 shirts in Dublin and Ireish expats in places like Boston or Melbourne) and was signed by Hicks and Gillette over his head and never felt wanted like he did in his first spell at Spurs.

Look at his loan spell at Celtic last season. 24 goals in 21 games. The ability, desire and experience is still there, but the pace has dimmed. Lets not forget that he is also the Republic's record goalscorer and on course for a record number of caps and is still thier captain.

Would be our biggest ever signing and would be a great deal for the club on a number of levels.

Incomparable to the likes of Graham etc. Just another couple of levels up.

                    IMHO.
