We'd struggle to find anyone within our price range who could be as creative as Adel. His poor attitude at times actually works in our favour because if he had the workrate of someone like Park or Kuyt to go along side his ability; he'd be at one of the top clubs in a heartbeat.

Mohamed Zidan is a very similar sort of player (bit of an attitude is the past as well) but he's already at Dortmund who just won the Bundesliga so no chance with him.

Was the only name that came to mind when I saw this thread. To sell a talent like Adel would be crazy, the fact pete made this thread leads me to think he is on his way. We'll only get peanuts for him (and 25-40% of that goes to spurs) and we dont NEED to sell him. Taarabt is better than Charlie 'played 10 good games now he's the second coming' Adam and Blackpool have hardly done badly with him.

Most fans like watching players like tarbs, but how many teams actually have players like him? Man Utd, Aresnal, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton etc? They have good players, but not like him as they prefer to play with a better team ethic and not build a team around one player - as we do/did. I don't care if he stays or goes, just as long as we get a decent price and one or two decent Prem players.

yes thats because those clubs can afford to spend 5/10 even 20m round the park for each position, we cant. in the words of ted we have to keep a lot of crap players so its more important for a club like us to retain one jewel. you don't need tabs if you have fletcher or ramsay but if you only have derry and hill you sure as hell do.

Eriksson from Ajax but I don't think he would come to us
"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

Adrian Mutu, I'm watching him now on ESPN and he is class. Always wants the ball and looks to create things. Plus he is rubbish at free kicks so very like Taarabt

Thing is, I presume 99% of people had no real idea what Adel was like prior to him joining on loan from Spuds. Maybe some knew a bit about his background but who'd have known what a influencial and talismanic figure he'd be? Makes me think there are possibly some replacements out there languishing in the reserves or feeder systems of the big clubs but how d'ya spot them and prise them away?

Gradel is more on Routledge's level.
Taarabt has unique potential, which is nowhere near fully realised.
It will be a lucky club which gets the finished product.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########
