Who would Jenas replace in the current team and Carthorse Cole would be another failed striker at W12.

Derry, Faurlin, Routledge, Smith. - None of these have ever cut it in the premiership. Granted Faurlin has not had a chance.

Jenas is a proven decent Premiership midfielder. Played in a champions league quarter final recently and was a part of a team that came 4th in the prem and has won the carling cup ( and played the final! )

Basically he is far better than what we have currently so would walk into the team.

He is better than every single player at the club, so take your pick. Personally I'd go for Derry.

Spurs fans laugh at Jenas an question why he plays so many games, but Joe Cole to replace Taarabt would be superb (if he can keep fit), but I still think Buzz could do a better job, if he was fit and allowed the same freedom Taarabt was.

Spurs fans laugh at Jenas? Quite possibly, because they are fifth in the Premier League and compare him to modric and bale. Its like the poster on another thread saying "if Upson was any good, why did Wenger let him go?" - ignoring that Arsenal were in with a shout of winning the Premiership. All these players would be a massive step up for us. While players like Jenas were competing in the Champions League, we were away to Scunthorpe. I'd be amazed if we signed any players of this calibre - not because they aren't good enough for us but because they are way TOO good enough for us.

Really don't want Upson and he is highly overrated. He is a big part as to why west ham leak so many goals. A slow donkey and we already have them.

If Liverpool are willing to heavily subsidise his wages then there's no reason why we couldn't afford Cole with the Taarabt sale money...

As Taarabt showed this season, there is an argument that being a big fish in a small pond, is better than being just another player in a squad.

Not sure if you're aware of the definition of mercinary, but neither Cole, nor Jenas fit that bill. Cole moved from Wet Spamto the s**m for a better career. He then left them due to not being played. Same thing seems to be happening at Liverpool. 3 clubs in 13 years is hardly criminal. The lad just wants to play, like Wayne Routledge. He wasn't a bad move.

Jenas moved from Forest to Newcastle for career reasons as well. Played over 100 games before Spurs wanted him. He's not likely to get much more game time, so what's he supposed to do? Sit on his #### and collect a wage? Players like that can't win. If they stay, their lazy c**ts, robbing the club of a wage. If they move, they're a mercenary.

Not that I'm a fan of Jenas, by the way, but he'd improve us.

I think you would see what good players these 2 are,yes they have lost there way over the last couple of years but under Warnock i think they would flourish.

I completely agree.

I still think that they are way out of our reach, though.

The likes of O'Hara and McGuigan are more realistic, affordable, and on par with where we need to be for now.

I think we may be pleasantly surprised,i do not believe the the Mittals will play about,i think they will go for it because one thing they do not want is us scraping to stay up.They have been in the public eye over the past few weeks with regards to the money lists/winning the league etc,they are now known as being in the big league and i just think they might be looking at what the sc*m have achieved and want some themselves.

They are not here to make up the numbers they are Number one in their chosen fields & won't settle for average.

So do I mate, but I don't think wages between £60-100k are really within reason. Jenas will be after at least £50k, which he'll surely get offered at a club like Sunderland, Birmingham etc. Cole will be looking closer to the £100k mark, and he'll be in demand with a few top clubs.

I just think they're both a little too ambitious for us. Especially Cole.

Thats loose change for them,a months interest,lets hope we look back at these posts in August and say THEY DEFINETLY FU**ING WENT FOR IT
