Until I hear it's Upson. Granted, better than we have, but he's still a calamity, and I don't rate him. I'd be pi**ed if we sign him. He'd be on a massive wage. I'd rather have someone like Kyle Bartley who's got the ability and time to get better. Boughera as well.

Confidence looks shot. Since the WC last year he's not looked the same player same could be said about Green. Pre WC people were saying Green to Arsenal and Upson to Spurs now look and who they are being linked with (not saying Green has yet been linked to anyone but no way will it be a top 6 club).

The Premiership is all about pace nowadays and we need defenders with pace. Yes Moore didn't have pace but the game is totally different. Even Terry always has quick defenders round him.

Two quick young full backs and a younger, pacier person alongside him and it cd work well. Am sure Warno will want at least one really experienced wise head in the defence, pref the heart of it - you only hav e to look at how he found room for derry and hill last year.

I'd rather do a Birmingham and sign two up and coming CBs from the Championship - they signed Johnson and Dann. Both players were of a good age playing good football and careers on the up rather than coming to an end.

Upson is poor and always has been - why did wengar waste no time on him?

i watch west ham alot (wife is a season ticket holder and i often take her dad's seat) and if there is one player i'd chase from over there it would be da costa.
really good centre half, really dangerous from corners and makes upson look like
a league 1 player. i saw him boss the donkey into doing the right things against arsenal and liverpool last year and upson was supposed to be captain.

also, upson goes down against man city holding his knee and all of a sudden can't play because of a dead leg? not the person you want in your team when things are going against you.
btw, had it on good authority that parker didn't play on saturday because he 'wasn't feeling well'. outstanding all year, but now has both eyes elsewhere next year. shame, but that's the modern game...
on that note, we could all be very frustrated fans in a few years, as per virtually every prem league fan outside of man u. all i hear is overpaid mercenary tosh.
