  • We should keep Derry and Hill

Lots of people seem to assume we will be ditching them.

For me what we have lacked for God knows how many years is some steel and character. These guys have it in abundance and we will need it more than ever in the Premiership. It will be a battle and we need warriors.

Disagree. Look at Arsenal. Lots of class but weak belly. Same with Man City. We will be down in bottom half scrapping for every point. We can worry about class when Bernie gives Warnock a £100m to spend!

Derry did very well this season and really surprised me,but while he may play a part next season I don't expect him to be a regular. Hill not good enough for premier league

              Don't agree with the above.

Arsenal have classy defenders such as Clichy, Kosceillny, and Squillaci, but where are they when it comes to putting their head in where it might get hurt?

QPR will need a mixture of skill & grit along , experience and youth in order to have a good season. A bit less direct, but not too unlike Stoke City.

Hill might not be a pacy player, but alongside a pacy centre back, he might do a decent enough job as a centre back in the Prem League.

I also think that Derry can perform the same type of role alongside Faurlin in the Prem League although a younger and faster player with similar qualities will be sought by Warnock.

Warnock has recently been in the Prem League and will know where he failed last time. I am sure he will have a very ggod idea of the players he will need.

Kenny, Faurlin, Taarabt look like being starters, but I think Warnock will want to keep Derry, Hill, Gorkss, Connolly, Hall, Orr, Smith, Routledge, Helguson, Mackie as part of his squad and for team spirit. Warnock maybe even keep Ramage & Buzsaky (although giving them game time on Saturday may have been his way of giving them a chance to say goodbye).

QPR will need to sign about 10-14 other players though (depending on who he keeps), and these will mostly need to be established players who have some Prem League experience or at least top flight experience from other good leagues.

He might try and sign a few youngsters too like Naughton, O'Hara and Bartley (Arsenal player on loan at Rangers).

I think Derry will do ok. The biggest surprise about him for me was his pace.
He actually gets about the pitch very quickly.

                Plus, he's a f***ing hero.

Clint?? Well worth keeping as cover.
                Character and steel.

With all due respect to Hill...Can you honestly see him being any good at LB in the Prem?

                  Valencia
                  Nani
                  Pennant
                  Lennon
                  SWP
                  Walcott
                  A.Johnston
                  Silva
                  Morrison

These are just a few of the wingers he could face. Add to that, flying RB's like Walker, Coleman and Da Silva, he's going to have a tough job keeping up with them.

He is also a leader on the pitch, again, something that classy Arsenal and to some extent, Man City, don't really have.

Derry and Hill will play an integral part next season, as Warnock loves them both and they will be rewarded for their efforts this season, with starts next season in the PL and its up to them to prove they / their legs can do it.

I agree that they will, and should be rewarded, but I just can't see Hill working out. I'd love to be proven wrong as I'm a big fan of his. The man is a beast, and a model pro.

Not necessarily as a left back, but alongside a good pacy centre back he could do a job. Good defending is often about positioning, timing and being brave, not just pace.

But even if not a regular starter, I would still keep him as back up and there will be occasions when an extra defender will be brought on to protect a lead.

If Arsenal had a defender like him they probably wouldn't have conceded so many goals from set pieces or late in the game.

In that case, I kind of agree, but I also think we have a younger version of him already here. Peter Ramage. Under rated at CB if you ask me. Some say he'll go...Perhaps that's true, but if it was my call...He'd get a chance.

Defo a better centre half than RB. That man must not play RB for us next year!
