  • Best pub atmosphere?

I did a pub crawl after the game taking in five or six (it gets hazy) and for me the best atmosphere of all was the Crown and Sceptre. Which boozer did you think had the best craic?

We did the Bok, White Horse, Conningham, Adelaide, British Queen, back to the White Horse, Tommy Flynns, Salutation and ended up in the William Morris.

Best atmosphere was outside the Conningham and BQ.

Was nearly going to go to the Crown and Sceptre as well.

Heard it was good in the Walkabout as well.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Started at defectors which was pretty good, bit quiet at the back though, then onto Goldhawk which was pretty decent, but finally ended up in O'Neills which was absolutely rockin, surprised the place is still standing, did'nt not stop bouncing and singing for hours, still not got my voice back!

Great night, can't wait for the next one!

I was in O'Neils with a group as well, you are right it was absolutely rocking! There were a few Leeds fans in there early on but they were good banter and signing anti Chelsea songs!

Was lively in Tommy Flynns until we all had to leave

Walkabout was a good laugh. Great songs and banter with fellow R's. Place was buzzing. Few Leeds in there early but they soon done one.

Oneils was top draw! We didn't stop singing all night, great songs new and old. Surprised the roof never fell in was banging on the support pillars so much to make some extra noise! Topped of with a conga We got going round the bar. O'donahughes dj was excellent too, loved all those ska beats he was dropping

O'Neills, Walkabout, White Horse, BQ, O'Donagues were all good. I got to Tommy's just as the bloke got done. Got to the bar and was told we all had to leave. Ended up in William Morris which was a bit pony, so the night definite ended on a low key affair.

Had a great night either way.

Crown and sceptre was decent but didnt stay long, but thik it was hard to beat the golden triangle of the conningham arm, bq and adelaide, full on street party.
