Man Utd away, Sunday 4pm kick-off...

Utd usually '100% randomly' open up against the promoted Champions, start as they mean to carry on..

Hopefully an 'easyish' fixture so we can start of with a positive result. Confidence will play a huge part of whether or not we stay up.

Traditionally teams going up play one of the top four on the opening day of the season. I reckon Arsenal away.

I think timing of fixtures can play a big part in how we do. Seems it's good to play certain teams just before they have important Euro games. Probably a good idea not to play ManU when they're in steam-roller mode from Feb onwards. Also, probably good to play likes of Everton (ie teams who aspire to top 6ish) in Autumn when they will probably be not doing as well as they hoped and manager/players will be under pressure. An ideal home opener would be a middling prem team who are rubbish away... maybe Sunderland or Stoke?

For some reason I always remember playing Manu first game when I was a sprog. I'm sure that's not right but it always seemed that way. We never beat Manu (or rarely anyways) so my mood was down.
