The word or use of Chambers is not a company as the man on the bus in SAR may think. It is a term that is used for offices that are specific to the legal profession.
Chambers are loose associations of practising barristers and Queens Counsel who each pay a set rent or income-based fee in order to be given office space and legal secretarial assistance. Each barrister is in charge of their own case-load, clients and often have an area or areas of expertise as in the case with Blackstone.
