Even if there is insufficient proof on the major charges, there are seven of them and at least one we don't have much of a leg to stand on (the registration of the agent). Plus the whole transfer stinks. Our defence seemed to be that we lied and really Faurlin didn't cost £3.5m. That's not a particularly strong defence. In a criminal court we would then be branded an "unreliable witness". So we can hardly get on our high horse with the FA. There is going to have to be some sanction against us, but hopefully minor.
The club never said he cost 3.5 million pounds. They said the deal was worth that. There are lots of deals nowadays which are reported as being worth a certain amount, which is made up of add-ons for promotions, appearances, international call-ups etc.
It's not our fault if the FA cannot read.

And on the agent -- the agent's money was given to the FA and they passed it onto the agent -- so any idea of us making payments to unregistered agents is right out of the window.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

    • Isn't it ironic that out of all the players we've brought in permenantly over the last few years (since FB, BE, Mittals etc.), Faurlin is pretty much the only one we specified an actual fee for !
Or at least the majority have been 'undisclosed'.

      Typical.

I struggle to buy that Swanley. Fair enough if Faurlin had really cost, say, £2m, and the rest was made up with agents fees, possible add ons etc but there is such a massive discrepency between 600,000 and 3.5m that it stinks. QPR must be under a lot of pressure to explain how it can possibly be worth that much, even taking into accout Faurlin's salary. If there was no under the table payment to agents the onus is on QPR to explain precisely how the deal was ever "worth" £3.5m. If I'm reading everything right this now seems to be where we are still in a bit of trouble.
