  • Report from sponsors evening tonight.....

Now I've been to many fans/players things over the years, but tonight I am sad to say was a total shambles. After being stitched up over the seating arrangements at the player of the year do on Sunday, this didn't exactly make up for it! A real shame as we have had such a great season.

Everyone was asked to be there for half 6 which they were. We then had to wait for a good 20-25 mins for it to start because certain players and Warnock were running late. The compere for the evening was Billy Rice who told us. Anyway, at these things over the years the drill is the players come up and give their item of clothing to the fan and he/she gets their photo taken. The players then hang around for a bit so all the sponsors can get things signed and have their photo taken etc.

Anyway, tonight each player was coming up and literally for most of them they were all sodding off giving the fans no chance to get things signed. Players were named in numerical order to come up, but Shittu went up first despite being 41? because he wanted to get away quickly. Anyway, after about 10/11 players, the fans clocked that the players were just leaving and many just started to leave the area that was set up for the players to come up. This mean't there was a mad rush to get things signed from the players that remained.

Most fans therefore only got a few things signed which was a real let down. I must add that some players were a real credit to the club and stayed far longer than many. These were Faurlin, Cerny, Vaagan Moen, Gorks,Connolly, Ramage and Cook. It was a real shame that fans that had sponsored some players shirts couldn't even get their player to sign it! It was a shame that so many of the players like Hill, Derry, Orr, Mackie and Kenny etc. who were brilliant on Sunday evening literally shot off! They all seemed more concerned about watching the Madrid v Barca game!

There were no shows from Tarabt, Hall (no surprise with his track record at these kind of events) and German.

Sadly, even Warnock left very quickly. When number 7 was read out (Tarabat) Warnock came up instead. No reason was given why he didn't turn up.

The lady who organised the event was clearly upset about the evening and I felt for her because the players had clearly let her down and it will now be up to her and her team to pick up the pieces when the inevitable complaints come through tomorrow. The players only had to give up a set agreed amount of their time but for the majority of the players they literally came in had their photo done with the sponsor and literally f*cked off! They are employees of the club at the end of the day.

As for anything interesting from the evening. Not much to be honest as the players were in and out quicker than Usain Bolt, but people sounded confident that things went well at Wembley today........but you never know.

I can understand to a degree, players would be asked the inevitable questions. Though they could have politely declined.

Heard little chance of Parade either, heard some players are going on holiday next week.

Yes -- that's been stated from many sources.
Perhaps some of the players did't stay because they weren't comfortable with the idea of people asking questions about the hearing? Just a thought.

Our players were all a credit on Sunday -- hard to be harsh on them, but I can understand why people aren't happy about this evening.

Tarabbt is back in Morocco ! Unfortunately for the organiser of this, today was the wrong day for this to happen, far too much on everyones minds to preoccupy them, professional or not. I am certainly in no mood to talk to anyone.

People were not there to ask questions. They had paid hundreds of pounds in sponsorship money and this entitles them to a short period of time each year to get a few things signed, have their photo taken etc. with various players. Some players were there a matter of minutes. They only had to be there for say 30 mins and then they could have left. Some players like I said were brilliant, but some were a real let down. There were not exactly many present. Maybe 60-70? This is how it has always worked over the years. Also Rowlands did not turn up.

Really? So not going to play any part in the last game of the season? And not going to be there to pick up the throphy as captain? Or will he back for Saturday!?

I'm sure I've read before that he has 2-3 day trips home and then just comes in for the last couple of training sessions before a game -- NW has virtually said it's the only way they can put up with him!
If we get the trophy, Adel will pick it up -- then run around the pitch, not letting anyone else have it!

I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Just other fans who reckoned they had heard bits and pieces. Obviously I have no idea who or where they have heard such things.

But I am feeling confident irrespective of how poor the evening was.

I feel sorry for the fans who sponsor the players and didn't get much in return. The usual suspects are the players u listed about staying around. Any idea what Ramage feels his chances of a new contract are?? From anyone who spoke to him tonight or on Sunday??
