Nodge, my point is that people are going significantly over the top re the board. They took over a club that was going down the pan. This is the same club that has all the heritage you referred to. That heritage could not have stopped them going down the pan. Look at Southampton, look at NOrwich and look at Charlton.

Things are not that bad. We need to get real.

Football is a business and a spectator sport, and it would be classed as in the leisure industry, and what's on offer has to be relatively priced. And as you know, some people now think it's not. That's a fact too. I may show a loyalty to a particular product, let's say going to a restaurant. If they double the food prices by saying, in a few years time we'll have the best food in london. So start paying for it now, and it will be even dearer when we start serving it, I don't think so.

qprsteve, what would we have done if briatore didnt come in ?

We were bottom the league. No money to buy players and about to go into admin again. 10 point deduction would have most certainly got us relegated

What would your attitude to QPR have been then ?

The true cost of watching QPR is way more than we even currently pay, I do't have the stats but would suggest that nearly every Championship club is a loss earner.

Football is not profitable. It is not profitable because the salaries of players are way too high. At least Briatore is standing up and saying that.

Salaries need to come down. Until they do, fans will continue to blame chairman after chairman for the problem.

Loyalty comes from respect for the product and it's price. If the producer abuses the loyalty, he pays dearly. Football is a product, nothing more. I hardly call it a shrewd business move by upping prices when there are no queues to relace those who decide to decline.

If FB hadn't of came in, whatever happened would have happened. If wages are the problem, it's his problem not ours. He knew what he was buying into.

There weren't too many compliaints considering the hikes were so high. Imagine if we had gained promotion there would not have been a word.

You can go on about product etc, but the bottom line is that QPR cannot survive in the Championship going fwd without Briatore or similar. Yes he put our prices up, but he has now brought them down a bit.

At the end of the day we need him FAR more than he needs us.

FB is the one who c.ocked up, not us. Any empty seats next season will be his fault not ours. Football is a generally unique loss making business, and the spectators are a unique group too. Get that wrong and you're asking for trouble.

Thanks coneysboots. Have found people on this site to be very fair and have been impressed with the moderators when people step out of line.

Don't mind having a different view to others. We all think our own views are the correct ones where as i KNOW that mine are the best

Somehow we need to get fans being a lot more positive at Loftus Road next season. When the fans get behind the team there is such a big difference with the performance on the pitch.

qprsteve, no no. CHairmen are always to blame in the eyes of football fans. The football fan is always innocent.

                      Lets separate facts from perception.

The perception is we didnt have a good season last season.
The FACT is that we had one of our best seasons in years and would have had a far better one it three of our best players had been available.

WIth the injured players available, that team would have finished in the top 6.

Forget all the off pitch stuff. A team gets judged by results.

Are we better with or without Briatore ? We are better.

Forget all the crap about badges, Jude the cat, pictures being touched up. It doesn't mean much at the end of the day. QPR's league position is what i invest in.

Flavio should never had mentioned the four year Champions League plan given that he knew very little about football. It raised false expectation amongst us all who bought into it. I think that was the catalyst for a lot of our subsequent problems.

It would be like me saying I could perform brain surgery in four years. Easier said than done - although to be fair, I think my chances are slightly more promising.

He then made some retraction saying that "Year one wasn't year one as it was only half a season and that year one was actually last year". Or something like that?

It just seems that everything he says is like a "Prince Philip" gaffe.

Stuff like: "I don't pick the teams, I just send e-mails to the coach", "Sousa wasn't sacked, we terminated his contract". It's becoming embarrassing.

I hope this season is all about Jim Magilton and not Flavio. But I fear it won't be.

Connors makes good points BUT he is missing the point of the thread,we were promised the champions league football within 4 years,if they intended running the club the way they have(cheap managers, cheap players, lots and lots of spin),THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE MADE THE PROMISE:shame:
