  • Worryingly, play-off contingency plans are in place.

As confirmed by Brendan Rogers. The relevant clubs have been informed that the play-off games could be delayed pending our appeal.

Can't be arsed to do a link but Rodgers does mention it in his recent interview.

I know this is just diligence from the FA but it does add weight to the possibility of a points deduction.

You gotta come better than that mate after posting such a statement?

This is potentially very damaging news. So please go ahead & link us up!

The FA & FL would be stupid NOT to have the contingency in place. The other clubs concerned must be asking "What if ....?" as they have games to plan, training etc. And as I said on another thread if they did not have alternative dates ready it might seem they have agreed in advance that QPR were not going to get points deducted and this would antagonise the other clubs involved. This is just my opinion and perhaps an overly optimistic one but I really don't think we can read anything sinister into this.

Not really they would need to have something in place or look even more incompetent ! I think this whole episode has been handled so badly, you cannot predict what will happen ! So they think that if they deduct points we should then face Leeds the next day in a game of football, laughable absolutely laughable .................and Swansea prepare for their last game thinking they can still get automatic promotion ?
This situation could not have been handled any worse, well done the FA who prove themselves totally inept yet again, whatever the outcome !!!!

Ok, perhaps "confirmed" is too definitive.

Brendan Rodgers admits Swansea have had an "indication" that the Championship play-offs may be delayed if QPR are found guilty of breaching league rules

Not so sure because this works both ways. The club's legal team could say that this is prejudicial in that they are preparing for a points deduction in advance of a Tribunal hearing. It is one thing to privately decided plans on a what if basis, it is another thing to communicate them, an own goal if you ask me.

Off now to bash and work off angst in gym.

Diligence from the FA as I said in the OP.

Still has me doubting my usual optimism slightly though as it does make an outcome with a deduction seem more tangible.

I definately know one thing for sure, I hate the FA for what they have done, are continuing to do, to us all, manager, players, fans.
I absolutely loathe the FA with a passion.
