A few random comments from a Rs fan.
I have viewed the WATRB forum for a good view years now and posted rarely in the past under a different user name (cannot remember log in details and unable to retrieve them for whatever reason) but have woken up to say how proud I am to be a Rs fan living on the Wirral (yes I am a born/bred northern monkey living near to Tranmere Rovers) - great to get texts, calls from mates who are Liverpool, Everton, Man Ure fans saying how great it will be to have QPR back in the big time. These fans always say what a great day out Loftus Road was and different to other London Clubs due to the tightly packed ground and friendlier atmosphere around the ground. Hope they still feel the same way when we beat them next season.
I have been a Rs fan for 35 years since 76 and my 10 year old son has been a Liverpool fan up to this season but after going to see the Rs 5 times this season with me (Norwich, Palace home, Blackburn, Preston, Barnsley away and suffered in the past with numerous visits to Crewe, Blackpool and Tranmere - I know this is a small amount of games compared to regulars on this site but hard for me to get to more games) has recently announced he is now a QPR fan thanks to players like Adel, Paddy and Clint Hill (Clint because he lives on the Wirral and we bumped in to him Xmas Eve 2010 on his way back from London in Liverpool and was able to have a few minutes chat with him about QPR - superb guy).
To hear this from my son really choked me up and made me so proud, he wears the QPR guiness shirt I had when I was a young lad. Great to hear this from my son and this was further enforced by getting tickets to Liverpool Newcastle today (I am a football nut and will go to games locally if chances arise), went to the game and not a bad game but atmosphere where we were in the Centenary Stand was flat, it was like the League of Nations around us, Irish, Danes, Norwegians, Spanish with occassional scouse outbursts. After the game had to ask him if he was still QPR and yes was the response, he prefers the atmosphere at QPR games - what a boy. Must admit I know Loftus Road gets slated at times for being quiet but I think this is common with a large number of clubs nowadays.
Anyway apologies if this thread might be deemed random rambling from a northener but it is great to get my feelings out.
Really proud to be an Rs fan and always will be, I have suffered the lows like Vauxhall Motors and now cannot wait to go to Anfield, Goodison, Old Trafford etc next season with Sir Neil Warnock in charge.
Gutted I cannot get tickets for my son and me for Leeds but will be popping the champagne next Saturday (we will be up, believe the hearing at worse will bring a hefty fine).
