Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to my fellow R's. Been reading these forums for sometime now but only just got round to registering.
Anyway a quick bit about myself. Born and bred in Rotherham, South Yorkshire hence the name Naaarven Mankey as you lads like to call us Northerners lol. So how the hell did i end up following Rangers all my life i hear you ask? Simple . . . . Stan The Man Bowles or God as he is to me. First saw him on tv back in 1972 not long after signing for Rangers and from that moment on ive been Rangers crazy ever since. Some brilliant times especially the 1975-76 oh so nearly season, the promotion back in 1982-83, the teams we had in the mid eighties and the early 90's and then the promotion at Hillsborough and now this season. I was there at Hillsborough and had to sit in their Kop all the way through the game biting my lip everytime we scored or had a chance cos every Rangers fan in there gradually got thrown out during the game once the stewards knew they were Rangers fans. An amazing day though looking out from their kop to see all the hoards of Rangers fans filling the leppings lane end at Hillsbrough. Happy days!!! But yesterday topped everything for me. I couldn't get to the game but watched it on my pc from some internet feed. I ran out on to the street at the end going f****** crazy i think all the neighbours thought i was crazy. But hey then again they probably know that anyway as my house is painted Blue and White in Rangers colours anyway. Weve had plenty of hard times too especially the relegation to the 2nd division and the administration etc etc but now is all about the good times again. Yeah sure were gonna find it hard next year in the premiership but as long as we give it a good shot i'll be a proud Hoop!!!
For the record im not just coming out of the woodwork cos weve won promotion. Ive followed Rangers all my life. Try living up here with all the stick i get for supporting Rangers in a town that follows Sheff Weds, Sheff Utd and dirty Leeds. I hold my own up here and im proud to wear my shirt and show the colours. My blood is hooped and im proud of it through thick or thin. Most of you guys will have hatred for Chel**** or Foolham but as im a naarvern mankey my pure hatred is Leeds so next Saturday lets give it em large. U R'ssssss
PS. Ive attached a few Rangers wallpapers i did many moons ago so if anyone wants em feel free. They are 1920 x 1020 but if you ask kindly i'll gladly make em whatever size your desktop is
Also attached is a pic of house in the famous blue and white but the blue has faded a bit now so needs redoing!!!!
