Its always been The Sun v The Mirror they hate each others guts like a local derby game.
Having said that people are gonna believe their favourite paper. The mirror is not seeking attention only stating facts which i believe are correct unlike the sun who like to "big up" their fabricated rubbish stories.
Its like QPR's lawyers have said "No case to answer".
This article does not mean we are in the clear, neither is it 'fact'.
It remains speculative and as mentioned above, could be construed at Sun v Mirror. However,
Along with the Guardian article which suggests the key point is around GP saying Faurlin cost us £3.5m of which his previous club received nothing, and the Club suggesting his fee was 'worth' £3.5m (not paid up front). A key arguing point.
Both these articles at least offer new detail (which Sunday People, Sun, Talk Sh1te do not) so seem a little more positive at least.
The club cannot be pursued over an event prior to the rule coming into force which had the affect of coming into play in July 2009.
There was a point in time when the club would have been aware of the rule prior to it coming into force, so the question is what did the club do to unravel the contract and whether they should have allowed Faurlin to play before this was done. I suspect it is over this time period the club is in the dock.
The FA have done a preliminary investigation and believe there is a case to answer, the would not do this likley and this is what worries me and the fact that they have named charges against GP. Again their lawyers would have been all over this like a Holloway rash. An entity that could face legal action does not falsly place charges of this nature loosly due to the threat of legal action leading to substantial damages. I await with interest the facts around these events and who has clean hands and who has not.
Finally of the lessor charge and the agent, I suspect the club has dropped off. All agents whether licensed elsewhere have to register with the FA and that was not the case at the point in time. Hardly a points deduction but a fine which we will have paid through our ticket prices next season.
In the meanwhile I am going to enjoy the moment because it is what has happend over 45 matches that counts and wins championships and not the murky world of contracts and agents that wins titles.
