  • Gut feeling over points deduction

Forget all newspaper / redio reports, fans from other clubs etc - what is your gut feeling over the points deduction? Will we be deducted suffiecient points to strip us of automatic promotion. Yes or no?

I will say no because points deduction relates to having an unfair advantage on the pitch i.e. this concerns the eligibitiy of players. AF has, as far as I am aware, been eligible throughout the entire season. None of the charges against the club relate to eligibility of the player itself - only elibility of previous ownership.

I'm not even sure Faurlin was owned by a third party.

We will just have to wait until next Thursday/Friday.

Gut feeling still stands a fine, though paper articles likt The Suns don't help

            No.

BUT do my own prediction make me more confident about the factual outcome of the hearing? No,not.

Big fine and a token points deduction.

However wouldn't be classic if the FA docked us 15 to 20 points which by default allowed Millwall to get promoted - What an advert that would be for the 'greatest league' in the world !!!!!!!!!!!!

Before yesterday I was worried but now not due to the fact the FA have now been put into a cornor due to our lawyor asking them to investeragate the leak and the FA stating they don't comment on a hearing. If and hoping a big IF they take 15 points or so from us and we end up in the playoff we will sue and appeal. On the grounds that there was a leak and that they made up there mind before the hearing. So FA have only few ops left we did nothing wrong and drop it, big fine, or big fine with point suspended for number of seasons.

10 points awarded for the stress lumped onto the fans and players and doubling of the prize money for being champions.

Seriously, I still feel instinctively that it will just be a fine, as there is no proof that such 'misdemeanours' would have gained us any playing advantage.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

I think the FA have screwed up here. The date of the hearing is ludicrous as so close to the ned of the season, but i actually think they wanted to instigate a points deduction to set a precedent for other clubs in the future.

I think they thought by now we'd have been secure and had sufficient points in the bank thet would allow a deduction (3, 6 points whatever) without jeopardising out championship win / promotion.

The fact we've had a semi wobble and others havent it is now far closer than hoped any any deduction would be risky depending on what happens today, but it could realistically be 3 point lead before final game (when they are supposed to decide)...

I don't think they would risk stitching us up over promotion, as they would end up in a court war with some of the best lawyers in the world for the tune of £90m lost revenue for promotion alone, not to mention vast marketing opportunities lost also.....

Their safe bet now will be a massive fine so they are quids in and we still go up to coin it ourselves.

That said, if we get a result and others dont today, meaning there's some breathing space, i can see them throwing a 3 point deduction our way to set the benchmark going forward.

I seem to remember that a (female) journo at some stage was interviewed about the case. And from what I can remember she stated that "it was Hugely important to set a precedent for the future".

How they want to deal with just that is my biggest fair concerning this case(If it is a case?)
Furthermore,If we get heavily punished, how do we know what amount of money the club actually will spend, really.
In the interview with Bernie(link in another thread) he says he will be here even if we play championship fotball next year. That piece of info coming form the MAN himself tells me that no severe amount of money will be spent on lawyers in order to save this season.
I´m very pleased to hear that he will stay here long term of course.
