Betting Odds

This is the worst piece of news but not completely damning, the one to watch is betfair, people set their own odds there, we're 1/2 to win the league and 1/4 to go up now, from 1/50 :((

actually, Betfair is NOT the best place to check on the odds at all, because of the lack of liquidity in the market for the championship.

because there is only a certain amount of money to bet at each given odds, as soon as that money is gone the odds jump quickly - i've been monitoring the championship markets on Betfair for some time, and small bets can make a massive difference - i am personally responsible for moving Norwich from 7.2 to 6.0 to win the league this morning

that's not to say that it's not a good indicator of market trends, as the markets are clearly showing a lack of faith in QPR, but with only £280,000 in the entire market, small bets can make a BIG difference (there is £16,000,000 in the market for the premiership winner for example...)
