  • 15pt deduction according to Talk Sport...

Hmmm.. not sure whether they have just plucked this out of thin air or there is any credence to this claim but bit like a smelly fart under the duvet this one won't go away.....

I know this has been done to death but never heard of a 15pt deduction before.. Should we be worried or not?

********, they wouldn't dare; flavio and bernie will sue them for years.
I don't see why you guys are so scared when we got a guy that built Formula 1
and another guy who has more lawsuits than berlusconi.

NW works at the station as is friends with Alan Brasil - not sure if NW would even know anything, but they do have some connections with the club.

I am getting sick of this now......it really won;t go away.

TS i.e. the Moose, have just taken the Sun story. They said so themselves. They haven't had any inside track info.

if this happened, it would be difficult to recover. It would drain the players, and the fans. This is absolute hell, when it should be the best time in 15 years - what a shame we are going through this crap

Talk Sport ran it as 'the big story' at 9am and then 25 minutes later almost ignored it and said 'we are dealing with facts and QPR qill be promoted with a point at Watford'. Almost as if they had been told to change tack.

I am sick of these rumours and I guess the players are too. Someone at the club should sue these Newspapers (or comics in the case of The Sun) if they turn out to be false as it must be having a real negative affect on the team morale.

As has been stated many times, if we are deductd pints we will surely appeal, which will drag on and throw the play offs into chaos, etc...

I for one am relaxed about it, but just want it to be decided one way or the other.

It's too close to the end of the season for a points deduction to be realistic. Any deduction whatsoever would mean massive legal consequences for us and the FA from a lot of the other teams in the League. Norwich and Cardiff would also profit from any deduction to us, which would not please the team in third place who would then have to play the runaway leaders in the play-offs. The arguement seems to be that the agent was not registered with the FA however, he was registered with FIFA, under EU rules surely this is a restriction on EU trading laws if the agent in question cannot ply his trade in a country which is part of the EU?

There is a saying about never letting the truth get in the way of a good story, and I think this applies here. The panel is independant from both us and the FA therefore, any possible punishment is purely guesswork, that is why neither party have come out in public and said what the possible punishment will be. The easiest solution for both parties is a large fine, this would put an end to the matter and all involved would be happy with that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the FA haven't already told the panel that they do not want points deducted, if we are found guilty!

The independent panel DO NOT impose the penalty. They advise the FA on the basis of their outcome and findings.

I am afraid that this is a cul-de-sac agrument. The FIFA is a registered company in Swizterland, secondly whilst you are right regarding the Treaty of Rome, if there are regulations for example that are there and designed to regulate professional standards, then this is not a restiction in trade unless it was found unduly basis in a particular way. A lawyer qualified in Norway for example could not walk into a British courst and start work.
