The guy is still so young. Shittu and Hall are both much older and have failed in the Premiership. They young kid has had about 3 bad games this season. If you were there on Sat you would have seen that Gorks was far worse on Sat. Gorks was poor again today. Terrible headers in the 2nd half.

In the Premiership you need players who can play all over the park. And he is the only once who can do that. It's a squad game.
Don't see why the guy would lie? A respected ex Ranger that played for us in the Prem, Obviously still close to many at the club.

Conners has been dropped, got reinstated & been dropped again, does that sound positive to you? I agree on the floor he is a very good player but my only issue with him is that he seems very frail mentally & that was backed up by what was said in the bar. I'm not the only one that thinks it & you know that mate.

Summer I can defo see him moving on to pastures new.

Connolly's 'mistake' on Saturday was not a howler, the ball came in behind him it was more unlucky. Gorkss made the worst mistake Saturday not closing down. Connolly is a good player, is very young, and wil be a quality player at the top level. He is also more than capable on the deck at passing, and alongside a proper centre back he will flourish.

A few weeks ago when we were winning every week he was being talked about as our captain for the next few years. Do me favour? The bloke doesn't become poor overnight. Form is temporary. Class is permanent. He is going through a dip in form. All players do. Gorks was far worse on Sat at Cardiff and if anything it should have been him being getting dropped today.

The kid will get back to his best. Look at Hall. He has a couple of good games and people think he is Bobby Moore! Thankfully MC can play in a few positions unlike the rest of the back four.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

hammersmith completely agree with you , dont undrstand bad press he is gettting , hes been outstanding for 3 quaters of this season , remember guys he was a key element of the best defensive record in this league, hes the best ball playing cb in league and yes hes had 3 bad games big fkng deal, he will do well next year, oh as for sat it was gorks who had th ebad game, what could connolly do about the goal came at him waist height at pace , nothing he could do in that situation. i like him always have and thinkwould be a shame if hes hounded out cos of fans who are prepared to overlook others mistakes and pick on someone who obviously caes about the club and has time to improve even further

Dont agree, he's been dodgy a lot of times this season, lacks consistancy and dont rate him as a f/b or in m/f, wont get a sniff next season as we will prob get at least one hopefully two decent c/b's omo of coarse.

He is simply not good enough.

Suppose we can only support him when he plays & obviously its Neil Warnock's choice if he plays or not, at the moment its not.

I like the guy I just personally don't think he's ready for the prem by any stretch of the imagination, but neither is Gorkks or Orr if we're honest.

Remember he will have never experienced pressure like this, its all a learning curve, Hall Shittu and Gorkss would have played in high pressure games but Connolly?? Still have to improve though, i cant see him going anywhere this summer, still has two maybe three years left on his contract , i think the club will persevere with him for now, quality player as has already been said.

Premiership is a different league and some players will surprise us. I wouldn't write off certain players yet. In the Premiership players get far more time on the ball.

True. I hope he stays because he is a good player, just the thought of him against Drogba, Rooney, Van Persie etc is enough to make me do a doo doo in my pants

The ball he allowed to reach Bellend where he scored, conners has done that more than a few times this season, and has been lucky enough to get away with it.
He also has the turning circle of a bus, does not have good enough basic speed.

Was discussing him with my son, and we wonder if he has a hip or upper thigh problem as he seems unable to get his leg up high enough to intercept balls coming from out wide.
