  • As QPR Fans..We Have Longed For This Day

No need to be nervous. After 42 games we are top of the championship, by 6 points with a game in hand over our nearest rivals Norwich City.

Many previous seasons with 4 games we;ve had the luxury of booking summer holidays knowing that this time of the season is pretty pointless. More than once had to endure watching teams get promoted in our back yard or travel away to see it done against us.

Now this is our time.. This team and its supporters have worked so hard. The team for its brave performances and the supporters for backing them by travelling up and down the country.

Lets make no bones about it Cardiff City players and supporters are nervous, really nervous. That in itself puts our position in the league into prespective, we are not 3rd in the league wondering what Norwich are doing, we are TOP. We are the ones for so long this season having stood proud above all other teams in this position. The win for Norwich against Ipswich heaps massive amounts of pressure on the Cardiff City board and players. They failed in the previous two seasons and that has to be preying heavily on their mind. If we can hold out for the first 20 minutes, you watch the Cardiff fans get on the players back.

Every other team in this league wants to be where we are, any negative comments towards us are borne out by jealousy.

For me its not even about revenge about the Play Off final, a year later we made it anyway and who knows in hindsight were probably much stonger to hold our own in the championship.

For me tomorrow, its about proving who the best team in this league is. No-one says it will be easy, but then again travelling up to places Reading, Barnsley, Leicester and getting 3 points are not either.

Of course it adds extra spice that its Cardiff, if we do win it not only proves to all our fans that we are the best team in the division, it proves it to everyone else.

We have longed for the days like this and its our time to be brave, reap the rewards of a long hard season, by getting that ultimate prize.

Rousing stuff Pete, well done. Hope you are right.

Agree it isn't revenge in that Warnock and the entire team has changed - been transformed - since that match. However, I remember the misery of leaving that stadium, the let down, the abuse from Cardiff fans, cancelling a big celebration I'd planned with friends in a restaurant on the way back, and just driving all the way back up the M4 in silence and then going straight to bed. It wd be just that little bit sweeter if we cd do it in their backyard.

            Great post Pete

I have been to 40 of our 42 games this season and yes we have rode our luck on occasions but after all the years we have had of bad luck we deserve a little bit to come our way but its not just that this season

We have a real team mentality which I strongly believe goes right from those at the top in the Board Room right down to the junior teams that just oozes confidence and that is why I am convinced this great side will not bottle it this season

How many times have we seen amazing saves from Kenny then forgotten about it for a while because we went on to grab three points,we almost take him for granted as fans so imagine how he inspires our defence not to concede?

Our midfield is the envy of any club in this league and just think about the players who cannot even get in the side and that will give you an indication of how far we have come

Upfront we have so many options and I can honestly say that I would not swap any of our players for anyone else in the League

Our fans have not booed at all this season when once there was always at least victim on the pitch who incurred the wrath of some week in week out and we have mostly kept the faith at all times

Our blips or bad form as some would describe it consisted of losing a game once in a blue moon and you can see how much the players appreciate our total backing especially away from Loftus Rd

I have supported this great club of ours for 40 years now and would be truly devastated if we blew it this season but even we did I would be there next season and the one after that because they mean so much to me and every other fan

Lets sing ourselves hoarse tomorrow afternoon and get our lads over that magic finishing line because we we are a very very special football team

Good post and this highlighted point should not be played down. A loss tomorrow for us is not the end of the world by any means, but Cardiff must win tomorrow. Whilst our fans will be having a party their fans will be very anxious as will their players.
