DAVE JONES today fired a passionate warning message to QPR boss Neil Warnock, declaring: “We’re coming after you”.
The Championship heavyweights go head to head on Saturday as Cardiff look to slash the leaders’ eight point advantage at the top of the table
Hoops boss Warnock cranked up the heat ahead of the biggest game of the season earlier this week, insisting all the pressure was on the chasing Bluebirds. But Jones today hit back, telling his great rival the fight for the Championship title is far from over“Neil can say whatever he wants to say – he normally does. We’re doing it for us, for our own reasons - we want to do well for this club," Jones said.
“He has to win it because we are breathing down his neck. Neil forgets about that.
“If we win on Saturday the pressure is on them just as much as us and everybody else who is chasing them. He’ll be trying to relieve the pressure from himself.
“They haven’t won it yet. If we can get the result on Saturday the pressure is on them with three games to go as much as anyone else.
“He’s a good manager and we’ve always been vying to try and win something. People forget that our CVs are as good as anybody’s.
“He’ll want to be successful as much as I do. That is what keeps driving you on."
A QPR win would see them clinch promotion to the Premiership at the Cardiff City Stadium, but Jones insisted his team is focussed entirely on their own performance.
The Bluebirds could even clinch promotion themselves over the Easter weekend if they secure six points against QPR and Preston and other sides around them stutter.
And Jones has urged players and fans to come together for one final push
“We’re not spoiling anyone’s party. We’re looking after ourselves.
“This football club has been building for a long time.
“I think the fans have got a sniff of it just as much as the players have. We have all got to be one and forget about anything else.
“There will be nerves but our aim is to keep chasing down the team above us.”
Simple repeat this then tell the players go out and let him eat his words
