    touche!

"You either love him or loathe him - he's a bit like me. When you look at his ability he's done fantastically to make the living he has. He's long past his sell-by date but he does a job. He's been superb."

hehe...he giveth and he taketh away!

Cannot see what the problem is.Taarabt is a gifted player who can win games for QPR in a flash. When he plays well, so do QPR.Players are man marked all across Europe for this reason.Savage in most games V QPR and indeed what little I have seen this season ...is a spoiler. But he is also a good football footballer and scored some good goals.Derry does similar job for us, without being flash.Savage got stick throughout the game ..took it..gave it back and got the "negative" point Derby needed from that game. When Adel went off...they shook hands....Adel threw a strop Savage has been milking it since....Thats football...Apparently after game Savage was full of praise for QPR and for Adels talents....

Savage is 37 and has vast experience, taarabt is 21 and before joining us never had a proper coach to teach him how to play football. Savage has never been at a successful club and plays on his reputation. I haven't seen the replay but he should have been sent off, if not for the foul but for the constant moaning at the ref who if stronger would have sent him off. As for savage being a millionaire, so is Ken bates, mike Ashley and many others who have made the best out of nothing, it doesn't mean they deserve it though.

As for taarabt, he is by far the best player in the championship and will shine in the prem. For anyone doubting his ability and attitude as I heard many fans last night, just type his name into you tube and tell me you don't smile when watching him.

Are you not counting Jol, Hughton, Ramos, Poyet, Redknapp and Le Guen as 'proper' coaches?

And completely ignoring that Savage has been a medal winning top flight performer for the huge majority of his career with a number of clubs paying over £10m for his services?

Why some continue to show levels of arrogance and disrespect to decent pro's is beyond me sometimes.

The friends you make on the way up are the ones you need on the way back down.

Saved me having to write anything out.

                  Well put, Nodge.

I would have taken Lily at the start of our season. Just for one season.

The lad is only 21 with raw talent. Give him another year...
Exactly right. Although despite his age Savage is very fit, apparently came top of the recent fitness tests at Derby. BUT it would have created space for the others.
Savage did a great job on Monday, like it or not, took abuse from the fans, as ever, and took it with a smile. Great pro, who always acknowledges on 606 that he has made a career out of hard work rather than natural ability.

Nodge, they are proper coaches but how many of them have spent time with taarabt the way warnock has? They all say taarabt has loads of ability but never did anything with it, if they had he would not be playing for us. As for savage, what exactly has he achieved in his career? If he retires telling his grand children that he was part of teams that got promoted a couple of times and on several occasions man marked QPRs best player then in football terms that isn't very successful IMO. And finally.... You talk about disrespecting pro's but isn't that what savage was doing to taarabt on Monday night by suggesting he was fat and claiming he has had him in his pocket for the past 3 seasons? How can you expect people to have respect for pros when some pros are some of the most disrespectful on this planet?

A total pratt of the highest order, and should have been sent off in the 1st half, had nothing to do after adel was subbed as obviously was the only job he had.
How many jobs do you want in one game??
show some good grace, he was excellent and said nice things about qpr after the game

My point about savage is whilst he is definately a top pro and the game needs characters like him, and duels between skill and muscle are always interesting. the whole i had tarabbt in my pocket thing is wrong..tarabbt had himself in his own pocket as he has done in several games this season that savage hasn't been playing in! it is not only against derby that we have seen him drift out of games and in no other game has a member of the other team bragged about pockets or whatever! just a bit of self congratulatory promotion for someone who is coming to the end of an average career!

Jol and Hughton spent the best part of 2 years coaching Taarabt. Ramos, Poyet and Redknapp another 18 months. He was always part of the first team set up at Spurs from the moment he arrived from France. Pretty long time.

Savage has two Carling Cup winners medals and 70 odd caps for his country. Taarabt is nothing to Savage. He's man marked some of Europe's best players out the game, especially when at Leicester and a Championship kid isn't even going on his radar. He was asked to do a job for his team, did it superbly and for the second season running at LR, Taarabt sadly couldn't shake the 37 year old one paced wind up merchant. He didn't call Taarabt fat or even allude to it, certainly not in any of the interviews I've seen or read or Savage's twitter feed. If he did, he's not far wrong is he? (though I can't talk!)
