It really does atonish me how quickly people knock Taarabt. I've been a supporter for many years and I think most fans would agree he is the best player down here for the best part of 15 years. The last player that caused the excitment of Adel was Sir Les albeit different players and to an extent Sinclair.
He is 21. That is not that old and he has much to learn
Taarabt had a job done on him last night. Savage was on him all night, chatting, fouling, winding up (pretty much like Bircham having a stormer). He got furstrated by himself nobody else. His chucking if his bottle. was not Billy Big B*****s mentality, it was someone who'd had a bad day see Savage shaking his hand as he went off.
Taarabt is a class player, he's been responsible for some of the best moments this season and has made fantastic memories for many fans during his time both on loan and as a perm fixture.
Does he have his flaws , undoubtedly, but he is the player that has had you waxing lyrical to your mates in the pub, the one who's given you that wry smile when someone has asked you about his latest performance.
He had a fairly mediocre game, although he was also responsible for some of our best moments overall. It doesn't mean he can't cut it, it simply means that sometimes (and there will be plenty more) he doesn't have the influence he often has.
I've only supported QPR for 30 years, but having seen the ups and downs he is probaly the closest thing to a Marsh, Bowles, Currie, Stainrod, Byrne, Wegerle figure many supporters 20 or under would have seen.
He's a class act that many fans, will remember as the best 'Maverick' they have seen (until hopefully the next one!)
Who honestly would bet against him getting the 'clincher'
He's a pain from time to time, but he's ours, and the good certainly outweighs the bad.
