It really does atonish me how quickly people knock Taarabt. I've been a supporter for many years and I think most fans would agree he is the best player down here for the best part of 15 years. The last player that caused the excitment of Adel was Sir Les albeit different players and to an extent Sinclair.

He is 21. That is not that old and he has much to learn

Taarabt had a job done on him last night. Savage was on him all night, chatting, fouling, winding up (pretty much like Bircham having a stormer). He got furstrated by himself nobody else. His chucking if his bottle. was not Billy Big B*****s mentality, it was someone who'd had a bad day see Savage shaking his hand as he went off.

Taarabt is a class player, he's been responsible for some of the best moments this season and has made fantastic memories for many fans during his time both on loan and as a perm fixture.

Does he have his flaws , undoubtedly, but he is the player that has had you waxing lyrical to your mates in the pub, the one who's given you that wry smile when someone has asked you about his latest performance.

He had a fairly mediocre game, although he was also responsible for some of our best moments overall. It doesn't mean he can't cut it, it simply means that sometimes (and there will be plenty more) he doesn't have the influence he often has.

I've only supported QPR for 30 years, but having seen the ups and downs he is probaly the closest thing to a Marsh, Bowles, Currie, Stainrod, Byrne, Wegerle figure many supporters 20 or under would have seen.

He's a class act that many fans, will remember as the best 'Maverick' they have seen (until hopefully the next one!)

Who honestly would bet against him getting the 'clincher'

He's a pain from time to time, but he's ours, and the good certainly outweighs the bad.

Very well reasoned and I concur with much of what you say but still have worries that he won't be as influential but am also very much hoping that once better players are brought in that this will somehow ease the burden..

Still, before then we have the little matter of a game in Cardiff and very much hoping that he will be back to his his best and score the winner like he did at LR last year...

in prem teams wont treat adel with as much respect as derby and others do.

he will get space.. but i wont lie. i would accept an offer over 6mil for him.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
        Lovejoy: "No?!"

The better the players he is playing with, the better he will play. They will make the right runs, they will deliver the ball on the ground.
So will he cut it in the Premier League, of course he will. He is crying out for it.

What is the point of selling your best player. It's madness unless you are desperate for cash.

As many have said, he's only 21 and still learning. So, yes, I think he will do well in the Prem, although it may take him a little while to settle in to it. Think of the difference between his overall performances this season to last - he's playing far more of a team role now (although he's still a greedy git at times!), and has improved that side of his game more as the season has gone on. I credit NW for that, and I think from what he's said, so does Adel.

One thing that I did notice, and it's something that I've never understood why people trot it out (no offence Mark ;))

If we were in the Prem this season there would be 7 teams with smaller pitches than us, and given there are maximum and minimum dimensions allowed anyway, the difference is never really that much (unless a club decided to go for maximum length and minimum width or vice-versa, and that would mean it was more of an odd shape than anything).

Always makes me cringe when commentators bang on about the 'wide open spaces of Wembley'. Err, its exactly the same size as The Emirates, Villa Park, Reebok, City of Manchester, Old Trafford, St James, Stadium of Light and the DW.

So, to answer the question, yes Adel will be fine in the Prem

If he had a good attitude he would not be playing for QPR. Once we become a Prem club can we afford a player like that?, obviously Tottenham didnt think so.

I would like to see him given a go

3 players on him - the other attacking options looked useless last night even with the space they got while Adel had Derby all over him.

Very sad the way our fans love any excuse to have a pop at one of the main reasons we are going up.

And people applaud Smith for running a around lot like a headless chicken....for "giving 100%".... the problem is it was 100% of utter ****.

I give up. Any excuse to have a pop at Adel. You don;t deservce to see talent. If we have a team full of grafters with no one able to unlock a defence - we will come straight back down.

Adel is young and learning, but he has the ability and potential to become a great player.

                Luckily NW knows this.

I say let's see what he can do, not many players can pull 2 guys on him every time he has the ball, certainly tommy, routs, and the others will benefit from the attention that he will get.

I think he can make some prem cb's and midfielders and fullbacks look silly.

                  Upson, for example, smalling..

also Adel's free kicks will be very important, if stoke can survive on delap
we can do the same with taraabt.

Would you take ten assists and 8-12 goals?
                  I will and I think it's possible.

He could also get fullbacks sent off if they miss their tackles.

Adel's free kicks and corners are rubbish and I'm amazed he still takes them. Considering how many he takes, the return in goals is 0.0000something.

It is important to remember that the creative players can have a bad game more often than a midfield grafter as it is harder to create than to run about a lot.

Rooney, Berb, Fabregas - all have been slated this season for "going missing" in games. Christ even Messi gets slated by some of the idiots on TalkSport. The point is they win games. Everytime Adel has a poor game half this message board have a go. We would not be top if we swapped him for another player like our other midfielders.

Good article and well written. Only thing I take issue with is he seems to say we need another defensive midfielder to play ALONGSIDE Derry and a striker who scores goals ALONGSIDE Helguson - I don't know how Warno is going to play with 13 players. I think Derry and Helguson will have a significant part to play next season but I wd be worried if either were first choice. We need O'Hara or similar INSTEAD of Derry and Graham or similar INSTEAD of Helguson - those two can come off the bench and would be great squad players.

Warnock will sort out his (Adel´s) issues during the summer. But that´s a must!

Adel is very near World class on his day no problem with him in that respect!
