I'll be controversial and say Fitz Hall. Would never had said that a year ago.

Unfortunately none of them are good enough, the defence has been great this season but if we try to have a first 11 in the premiership that includes any of our current squad with the possible exception of taraabt and Kenny we will struggle.
I would love that not to be the case but thats life.its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

Shittu and Hall have both been failures in the Premiership hence why they had to drop back down to to the Championship
Main difference between the divisions is the ability to read the game. Hall and Shittu are very bad at this. Gorks and Connolly are much better at reading the game.
In this league defenders get closed down much quicker than the Premiership. There is far less long ball in the top flight. The top sides all play good football. Connolly will look do well in the Premiership. Cool and composed on the ball. Excellent at reading the game and looks to play out from the back like all the central defenders at the top sides.
Hill and Orr are funny ones. It would be harsh not to give them a go in the Premiership but many wingers will have a field day against them.First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

i think you're being a little harsh on our defenders here. We have one of the best defensive records any promoted team has had over the past few years so whats to say they won't hack it in the premiership? I mean who here honestly thought a few years back that Ian Evatt would have been a premiership regular.....Connolly and Gorrks have definitely got the ability to do it. Just a little more concentration will be needed but pacier full backs although i wouldn't totally rule out Clint Hill either.

Evatt is one of the main problems Blackpool have and its thier defence as a whole that has been their real weakness and likely to send them back down, despite the midfield and attack probably over acheiving.
If I had to keep one in the team i think it would be connolly, as pointed out above he is more cultured than the others and has the football ability but I think he might just be a bit off the pace. I thinks the rest would be terribly exposed against most premiership teamsits New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

It's so easy to judge players, and Clint Hill, Orr, Derry and a few others have been written off as "not good enough" before on here.
"The Panel" might be right this time, who knows?
But whatever happens.. in my eyes, writing them off so quickly lacks respect for what they've done this season.
And what they're about to achieve in the next few days for this football club.
I'm not saying that they're definitely good enough for the step up, I don't know if they are, I'll leave that for Warnock to judge... but some of the comments about our current players stink. Given what they're on the verge of doing for us.
And I don't just mean on this thread, before people jump down my throat.
Timing.
Just my opinion mind, so carry on...Last edited by Goddard; 18-04-2011, 02:07 AM.Final Version - Hope you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1z0UQ0eqRM

You need pace to make a clean tackle, and even if we tackled those prats from Liv, ####, Chel and Manu cleanly and perfectly we'd still give away penalties.
Get three europeans from former yugoslavia and keeps gorks, Connolly.
Our fullbacks? forget it.Last edited by waterbuffalo; 18-04-2011, 06:35 AM.
