He was a marine , served in Beirut, eighties, before the first gulf war, he saw a lot of friends getting blown up. He wrote poetry, it was all over the place, stream of consciousness but unique, I was like you stan, I was just on the board a while and I was pissed and I said the poems were awful, and a lot of stupid young people also felt the same way, so he was always laughed at, this guy was a vet, and on serious psychological medication, and trying to deal with it. So I felt bad, and became friends with him soon after. I wrote little stories, he wrote poetry, and it was as normal as day and night, and only those with a narrow mind laughed at us, though subsequently we were both banned, for different reasons. It's a big world out there, Stan, bigger than you think.

i've been following this thread and can't sit back and watch stan getting caned by jokers like you

why try and justify posting rhymes a 7year old could produce (calling it poetry is just insulting to those of us who appreciate real works of poetry) by banging on about the tragedies of war??? THAT is the real tragedy here!

i think teds 'poems' are rubbish so why should i join the happy clapping clique and tell him how wonderful or great it is and attaching all this nonsense about ex-miliatry, truama etc etc is a sad twisted argument and smudges the point unfairly

Most people laugh at poetry , because they do not have the brains to get it
